Jared's sore thumbs. They bruised up quickly.
I woke the boys up at 7:45. I got them dressed and then we watched Curious George while eating breakfast. Soon after 8:30 we headed to church. It had snowed and was still snowing. When cars passed by it was whiteout conditions. We had a great time playing with the kids. Mugumi brought juice boxes for everyone during snacktime so the kids were all excited about that. Vikki surprised us and met us at Salvation Army. The boys (and me too) were very excited to see her. They ate their packed lunches. Then we headed over to Goodwill. I bought a 100 pc Lincoln log fort set for $2.50. And we also got the gas station that goes on their Little People car wash for just a quarter. We walked thru the pet store per Adam’s request. Then I had to go to the store to get mousetraps. (Jared saw a mouse by the corn burner this morning.) Today every time I opened the van door on Adam’s side he covered his face, with his hands or his blanket, to hide on me. I could only see his big smile as I said, “Where’s Adam?” We got home around 3pm. Jacob fell asleep in the car and continued sleeping on the couch. I lay Adam down for a nap. He talked for a while, but finally fell asleep. Jared got home around 5pm. Jared and I built a fort with the Lincoln logs. Jacob soon was awake and came down by us to see what we were doing. He ran to get a car to park inside. Adam woke up around 5:45. He had fun playing with the Lincoln logs and Little people car wash. I built some little house that they pretended were chicken coops. Jared worked on setting the mousetraps. One of them broke and he tried to fix it. He was trying to get a staple out of his hammer stapler and ended up stapling both of his thumbs – OUCH! The boy liked watching Daddy try to fix the broken mouse trap and then put peanut butter on the trap. After dinner Jacob played at the counter with some people and some origami things. Adam played with the little people things. Jared went outside to take care of the animals and shoot the opossum. Jacob and Adam made a train across the living room and pretended to drive it. Jared called game crazy to see if they’ve gotten the Wee fit in. It's very hard to find and they had just gotten one in. He left to get that and also bought the Wii. The boys played in the tub until pj time. They were tucked in bed by 9pm. Jared and I watched Lost and also set up the Wii. After Lost was over we had fun playing Wii sports. We went bowling, played tennis, baseball, boxing, and golfing. Then Jared tried out the Wii fit. We got to bed around 1am.

From one of the oldest toys to one of the newest toy. Lincoln Logs...what fun. They are almost as old as dirt. We are almost shoveled out. I'm off to the soup kitchen. The help is calling me with...I'm stuck! this should be an interesting day. The guys are going to eat fruit for desert. I can hear them already asking for sweets. That means doughnuts! I just tell them the price of the meal is good. Free. We have warm scarves for them. Hope that helps. Now I'm heading out to see if I need to finish the driveway. Hope the truck came overnight.
Mr safty staples his thumbs??? Did he forget that when your thumb is over the staple opening on the stapler out dont push the button. A wii..those are fun to play...Kat and I talk about getting one too someday. I'm sure Guitar Hero and wii music will probably be added soon too.
I don't get it: Jared staples his thumbs and you let him go out to shoot a gun??!!
Is Jacob folding paper in some of these photos? Are those paper cups? I need some more captions.
Sounds like a cat might be in your future... Can't staple your thumbs with a cat.
Jason...they have at least 2 cats outside who help patrol the mouse population..maybe they should let one in the house to take care of the problem. Either that or Rick can send DB up north but then Jared will probably tell DB after he's done taking care of the house to thumb his self back to the big D
Your cats must be sleeping on the job. Sounds like Jared was sleeping on the job too when he stapled his thumbs. Ouch, I feel bad for him as I somehow know how that feels. Can't remember the details though. Have fun with your wii. Can't wait to try it.
♥ Love ya!
If y'all move to Big R you would not need a Wii. You can exercies outside all year long!!! Whew who eats mice. I get Savory Chicken, Seafood Delight etc all from Hills. Leave the mice alone. Now bugs in the house are a different story. Need that protein!! What is a staple??
DB
Let the record show that I was able to eject the first staple with no problem. It was the second staple that got me when the mechanism seemed a bit stuck so I really bared down on it. I then realized I had my thumbs a tad too close. Nothing more exciting than having your thumbs stuck together. No mouse in the trap yet... Mice 1 Jared 0
OUCH!!! Jared!!! I cringed just at reading that!!!
