Where's Adam?

Truman is waiting for Adam to drop a cheerio.

Not this time Truman.

More smiles.

We got a little wet on bike ride #2.

"Adam, lets run down the hallway, ok".

I got up around 7am and to work on updating (catching up on) the boys “baby books”. Most things are written down in a notebook and just needs to be added to their books. I enjoy doing that and also enjoyed looking thru their books. Jacob came down to the bedroom at 8am. We watched Curious George. Adam woke up around 8:30. He ran right to the fish tank and said, “hi fish” (it was so clear). Adam has started saying, “uh huh” as he nods his head yes. He likes to point at the animals on the Noah’s arch picture that hangs in Jacob’s bedroom. He points while I name him the animal he is pointing at. I carried him out to the living room and he pointed at the baby pictures that are hanging on the wall. He said, “Mommy, da (the) baby”. When I asked him if he wanted to see the baby pictures, he nodded his head yes and said, “uh huh”. He rarely says “no” but when his answer is no lately, he shakes his head no and runs away. Then he'll usually turn around and look at me with a smile. When I smell something stinky (dirty diaper) I'll say to Adam, "let me check your diaper". He'll run towards me, turn around, and back up the last couple feet to wait there while I look into his diaper. The boys watched out the window as it rained. Last night I brought in the little slide, which has been outside for a while. There are so many things to do outside that they don’t use it as much out there. But it was like a new toy when I brought it inside. Around 10am we went outside for a bike ride. I pulled the boys in the cart behind my bike. They liked making noises as we rode over the bumpy rocks. It’s a cool day (mid 50’s). Jacob and I played the matching game. Adam liked watching us as we played on the floor. After lunch we went outside for another bike ride. It was sprinkling when we started and pouring rain shortly after we left the driveway. The boys were staying mostly dry under the cart rain cover, so I continued to the end of the road and back. It was a nice rain to be outside in, no thunder/lightning. We stayed outside for a little while but then Jacob complained that he was cold. Adam likes to stick his tongue out in the rain. I got the boys out of their wet close and put their clothes in the dryer. We found Kate had left a mess all over the living room. I cleaned it up and then put my spot lifter away. The boys had fun running around undressed. Jacob was pushing Adam in the turned over stool. I noticed Jacob quickly stopped and look at me like something was wrong. When I asked him what was wrong, he asked Adam to get out and then lifted up the stool to show me. Under it was Kate’s poop – smeared onto the carpet. By the time I got that cleaned up the boys clothes were dry. They loved getting into their warm clothes. Then I made them some hot chocolate. After that we got out the markers and some paper to color on. Jacob liked hooking the markers together. While Adam was napping Jacob played with his Tonka "wheel pals" cars and train set. Then Jacob and I went outside on the deck. We snacked on crackers. Jacob liked looking thru a handful of different buttons in a bowl. He likes to find matches. Then he rode around on his dump truck saying, “that’s 22 horsepower”. Adam woke up and came out to join us on the deck. Jared came home and the boys hid on him under the table . Jacob got a card in the mail from Kenzie. He was really excited to open it. She wrote him a sweet note and put $1 in the card. He put it right into his pocket. We went for a nice walk down the road. The weather was so perfect this evening, I love this cool weather. Adam rode in the wagon. Daddy and Jacob ran ahead of us and then waited for us to catch up. Jacob caught a “long Daddy leg (Daddy long-leg)” spider and showed it to Adam. Adam wanted out to walk, but didn’t want to go in the same direction as us. I knelt down and told him he could walk with us or go back in the wagon. I wasn’t sure if he would understand that but he quickly grabbed my finger and walked right by my side. He held tight to my finger as we walked to the end of our road and halfway back. Then he wanted back in the wagon. Jacob fell while he was running and skinned his knee. He and I played for a short time in the sand before going inside for dinner. After dinner, we headed to the library for “Circle Time”. This week was about bunnies. He loved all the stories and was really excited to get the bunny stamp on each hand. Jacob fell asleep on the drive home. We got home around 8:15. Jacob woke up when I carried him inside. Adam wanted to see the chickens as soon as we opened the door to the van.

Sticks, leaves, and tractors.

Jacob thinks his stick makes a good hat on Mommy.

I love the boys expressions in this picture.

Cute smiles!

He got wet after helping me wash their slide.

Jacob came into our bedroom around 8am. We lay in bed until Adam woke up around 8:30. Jacob played peek-a-boo with Adam by hiding out of his bedroom and peeking in. Yesterday Jacob started saying, “Hi Bacon!” a lot. When I asked him where he’d heard that, he told me “Raffi Radio”. This morning as we listened to the song “Kitchen Sing Sing” song on the Raffie Radio cd, I heard the words, “pie baking”. Then Jacob said, “hi bacon!” After breakfast the boys played around with their trucks. Then we read some books. I got out the Little People toys for Adam to play with while Jacob and I played with the cash register. Then we joined Adam on the floor playing with the Little People things. After snack time we went outside to play on the deck. The boys had fun pushing their trucks around out there. We also brought out some balls to play with. We played ring around the rosie and then sang the hokey pokey song. It was funny to watch Adam as he tried to copy the dance moves to that song. Jacob asked if we could eat lunch outside. The boys helped me make sandwiches and we had pretzels. After lunch we went out to the front yard to play. I sat in the leaves and enjoyed watching the boys play in them. Can't wait til the rest fall and we rake them into a huge pile. They had fun pushing their trucks around and found some sticks to play with. Then Adam took my hand and pulled me towards the swing set asking, “wing, pease”. Jacob played in his sand while I gave Adam pushes on the swing. Jacob was excited to show me the grasshopper he had caught. By the time we went inside it was already snack time. I read Adam a couple books before tucking him in for his nap. Jacob and I cuddled on the couch while reading some books. Then we lay down and rested. When we got up Jacob watched his bulldozer video. I prepared a meatloaf and peeled potatoes. Adam sat on the counter and watched me peel the potatoes as he ate his cracker. I set the peeled potatoes by the sink and Jacob washed them and put them in the pot for me. Jared came home around 5pm. We went outside to spray the hornet’s nest. Jacob collected the eggs. Then he and Daddy took food over to bait the trap. Once back inside, Jacob pretended to be “animal rescuers!” He put all his stuffed animals into the “thorn bushes (the dog bed)” and drove his dump truck to rescue them saying, “were animal rescuers!” In a book we got in the cheerios box, the kids are animal rescuers – they rescue a manned wolf pup from the picker and thorn bushes. Jared had class tonight. The boys and I took a drive to the pet store. We had fun walking around the store. Then we had our fish water tested. We took home some new fish. Jacob found a couple toads as we were walking to the chicken coop tonight. He wanted to tell Daddy right away when we got inside. The boys played with their train until "pj time". Then we all cuddled in the rocking chair and read a couple books. I tucked Adam in bed and then Jacob and I read books on the couch.

The ball is about to head my direction.

It bounced off my head, onto the cupboard, and got stuck in the window.

Where'd Adam go?

Watch out Jacob

Checking out the peppers.

Silly faces for the camera.

Jacob woke us up shortly before 8am. Adam was up soon after that. Jacob pointed at the clock and asked, “what does that say?” He likes me to tell him what time it is. After breakfast we had a little time to read books. We left for church soon after 9am. On the way Jacob was talking about what he had done “last morning (yesterday)”. Jacob excitedly walked back to his class and told me he was going to sit on a yellow chair. He searched for a yellow chair and then climbed over a row to get one. Adam cried as I left him in the nursery, but quickly stopped when they asked him if he wanted a snack. When we picked Jacob up from his class he was excited to find and show us the paper he had done. The boys always like to get drinks from the drinking fountain. They wanted to play at the churches playground so we took them over there for a little while. We had fun teeter-toddering with the boys. They wanted to try out every teeter todder. We got home from church around 11:30. Before going inside we let the chickens out of the coop. Every time we get out of the car Adam says, "chit-tin (chicken)?" He wanted to get them an apple and asked Daddy for help. While we were waiting for lunch to be ready we had some fun playtime. Daddy walked around with the tunnel over his head. He would pick thing (toy, the boys, pillows, the exercise ball) and “spit” them out. It was really funny when he’d pick up a pillow and “spit” it out at the boys. Jacob said he was a “giant truck that picks thing up and spit them out”. Jared “spit” the exercise ball at me and it hit my head, bounced onto the kitchen cupboard and got stuck in the window above the sink. Too funny! Then we played in the hallway with the shake and go cars. After lunch I folded and put away the laundry. Jacob, Daddy, and Adam played with the tunnel and fire truck playhut. Adam came over to me carrying Jacob heavy matchbox cars case. I opened it up for him and he got a few out to play with. Then I read some books to the boys. After laying Adam down for his nap we played Crazy 8’s. Jacob and Daddy played against me this time. After each game Jacob would say, “I wanna play that again”. Then Jared and I played a game of Slap Jack. After Jared won me in that, he and Jacob played the matching game. Jacob played with his cash register while he rested. Then we went outside to work on clearing the brush. Jacob played with his tractor and had fun climbing a little tree. Jared and I were pulling out the cut down trees to load on the trailer, which was parked on the side of the road. I noticed several hornet in the tall grass but didn’t think too much about it and continued loading trees. We were walking right thru the area where I'd seen the hornets. Well, of course, I got stung. Jared looked for the nest and then he got stung twice. Now the area I’d seen the hornets was covered with mad hornets. We moved the trailer and worked on loading the piles over by the goat paddock where we first started cutting. Adam woke up. I brought him outside with us. It was another beautiful, cool evening. The boys played in the back of the car. Then the boys and I rode back there while Daddy pulled the trailer behind the house for unloading. We had fun riding in the back with the door open. Adam hung on tight to my arm. Then we drove back to pick up Jacob tractor and trailer. Jacob was excited that we were haling them on the trailer. We noticed a couple pumpkin plants growing up by the house in the flower garden. Adam found the bubbles and we had fun blowing them. We walked over to check on the horses. As we walked over there Jacob sang a song that went, “were checking on the horses” over and over as he moved his arms. He wanted me to sing it also. The boys liked looking inside the gravity wagon when Daddy turned the wheel and opened the door. Daddy found some mint and let them smell it. The boys had fun getting pulled around in their wagon. I picked some green peppers from the garden. We went inside at dinnertime. While dinner was cooking I cut up the peppers for freezing. Adam liked checking out the peppers. Jacob liked pulling off the stem after I cut around the top. After dinner we headed into town to get some ice cream from meijer. Jacob was almost asleep when we got there. He was crabby in the store. Then he got kicked in the face by Adam’s dangling feet. When we got home we locked up the chickens. It was bath time and Adam ran really fast right to the tub. He right away started trying to pull off his shirt. Jacob cried in the tub and complained that he didn’t feel good. I quickly washed him up and took him out. After drying him off, I wrapped him in a towel, and held him tight on my lap as Adam played. That seemed to make him feel better. He asked for ice water and went out to asked Daddy to get him some. After the boys were in bed Jared and I had ice cream and watched I Love Lucy.
