I got up to exercise. During one exercise I turned on Curious George. Adam soon woke up and watched it with me. Jacob also woke up during Curious George. Jacob and I raced at making our beds this morning. Then Jacob had fun hopping around in a pillowcase. Adam wanted to try it too. He just ran and fell at the end of the hallway. He was done with it after that. We read "Where the Wild Things Are" (one of Jacob's new favorites) before eating breakfast. After breakfast we watched Clifford and then Sesame Street. During Sesame Street Adam asked to get out the Little People things. Jacob requested an apple at snack time. When Adam was done with his snack I asked him to put his bowl in the sink. He said, “Kay (ok)” as he ran to the kitchen. I heard the garbage lid close and found his bowl in there. We sat on the couch and looked at the “Where’s Waldo” book. Then I did some balancing games. While doing the ski jump I always have a boy on each side, holding my hands. They like "helping" me. During the soccer ball game Jacob likes to call out whenever he see a panda or a shoe. Today Adam was saying shoe or panda too. We played with the Little People thing until lunchtime. The boys did a great job helping me clean up the house. Then we got dressed to go outside. It was in the low thirties and felt nice with the sun shining. Jacob had fun with his snow shovel. He pretended to be a salt truck while pushing his shovel around. He went to his “work” in the snow and said he was cutting down trees. He also made a bed in the snow. The boys love eating the snow (ice cream). Adam would make a face like he was spitting it out after taking his bites. We let the chickens out of their coop and collected their eggs. Jacob caught his favorite chicken right away. Adam tried to catch one too. Adam is getting better at walking in the deeper snow. There's some ice in our driveway which the boys had running and falling to their knees for a slide. Neither boy wanted to come back inside even for hot chocolate. It was around 2:15 when we came back in. The boys had hot chocolate and animal crackers. Then we read some books. I tucked Adam in for his nap and then read some more books with Jacob. He rested in his bedroom while playing with his cars. I enjoyed listening to him singing songs as he played. He came running out of his bedroom saying, “Mommy, I was looking out my window and the suns out. It’s drying out all the snow, so we can go camping”. He's really looking forward to our annual camping trip and has asked when we can go camping alot today. Then he asked if he could call Daddy. He talked to him about the snow melting and going camping. When I told Jacob he could be done resting he said, “I don’t want to be all done, I still want to rest”. He soon did come out. He gave me a good back rub. He’d ask, “Does that feel good, you want me to keep doing that?” Jacob lined up some of his cars and said he was doing a magic trick. He'd take one car away and throw it into the bucket saying, “One disappeared!” Then he’d count the remaining (they did this sort of thing on Sesame Street today). Jacob wanted a pillowcase to play with. He packed it with some of his things, threw it over his shoulder and said, “I got my wimming (swimming) clothes packed, were going to Copper Harbor. We can pretend were going to Copper Harbor, ok.” He said he had a few more things to pack and he’d meet me in a couple days. Jared got home around 4:30. We continued playing we were camping and Daddy played too. Jared did some exercising to the Wii. Adam woke up around 5:30. After dinner I went outside to take care of the animals. Then we headed to town to walk around the mall. We took the boys to play on the train table at Barnes and Noble. After walking thru Sears we took them to play in the middle of the mall. We headed home after walking around Target. Got home around 9pm. The boys were tucked in bed by around 9:45pm. Jared did some more exercising this evening.

"Where the Wild Things Are" and animal crackers -- all in the same day! Wow! What a lucky boy! I still believe one of the most important lines in children's books is "And Max said, 'No!'" This is the beginning of real self-control: when we can say "No" to the wild things that want to take us over! (Some Wall Street executives needed to say "No" to the wild thing of Greed -- they were probably young before this book was published.)
Copper Harbor appears in play. Maybe you will have to do some practice camping trips before August. Maybe you can camp out in Carmel some weekend . . .
Where the Wild Things Are is also my favorite book too
