Blowing up the balloons.

Adam also trying to blow one up.

Jacob playing "Jonah and the Whale"
Feeding his bird.
Watching the new fish.

Driving their fire trucks.

Spraying the hoses.

Reading his High Five magazine with Daddy.

The alarm was set for 6:30 and I got up to exercise. Jared and the boys were up around 8am. The boys have been asking for toast with their breakfast lately. Adam ran to me this morning saying, “Tooast?” Around 9:30 we headed into town for drinks and donuts. We also went to Salvation Army, Goodwill and the Pet Store. The boys were excited when we told them we were going to visit the fire station. They loved seeing the fire truck up close. A firemen, named Steve, showed the boys lots of things on the fire trucks. Jacob acted shy but he enjoyed every minute of it. Steve showed us how they get the ladder off the fire truck. He had us count to three and then he pushed the button which brings the ladder from the top to the side of the fire truck. The boys thought that was really neat. We went all around the firetruck and he opened the doors to show the boys all the many different tools and hoses that firemen use. He pulled out the big ax and said it was his universal key to any door. Then he showed the boys where he sits in the firetruck. He got out his coat, hat and many flashlights. The boys loved the flashlights. When he asked them if they wanted him to turn on the fire truck lights both boys excitedly said, "Yes!" Then he showed us their sleeping area, kitchen, and living room. It was very interesting and we all had a great time. Before leaving Jacob shook Steve's hand and told him thank you. The boys loved their fireman hats, stickers and coloring books. On the way home we stopped at Pet Smart to get a few fish. Jacob excitedly picked out a black fish. We got home around 1pm. After lunch the boys had fun playing with all the origami things sent to us from Uncle Dee. Jacob had fun playing with them for awhile. Adam took me to the closet and asked to play with moon sand. They both had fun playing with that until snacktime. Before reading books Jacob asked if they could pretend to be fireman. They put on their hats , drove their fire trucks, and sprayed their hoses. I lay Adam down for a nap around 2:30. Jacob rested while coloring in his bedroom. Then he watched Daddy play Mario Kart on the Wii. I did some exercises. Jared, Jacob, and I went outside to take care of the animals. Jacob had fun playing in the snow. Jared worked on plowing the driveway. We got several inches of snow today. Adam woke up just before dinner was ready. After dinner we headed over to Home Depot to buy some new closet doors for in Jacob’s bedroom. On the drive home Jacob started complaining that he had to go potty. I told him we were close to home and pointed out the junkyard (which Jacob knows is near our home). Adam said, “Dunkyard.” The boys played in the tub until pj time. They were tucked in bed by 9pm.

Fieldtrip to the fire station. ...Wooo. That's a wonderful Sat. thing to do. Looks like snow outside as I'm looking at the picture of Jacob playing at the table. We had a smidgin. That's just a tad! Weather channel looked like you were going to get dumped on. The kids look sooooo healthy. Kimmy and JB should be nothing right now with all that exercising!

The last thing was from Grandma R. That message just jumped away from me before I signed it.

I am glad the origami is not too squashed by the mail. I wondered whether I should have sent it all in a box, but decided to risk the envelope. The birds look fairly good. I am so pleased they know how to blow up the balloons. Now I know I can send more of those. Playing Jonah and the whale is good -- he can let the figures be what he wants them to be. Good imaginative player!
