Kids day at the fair

Adam looking at Daddy.
This is what he sees.
Tired boy.

This morning Jacob woke up around 8am. He played with his cars. I showed Jacob some pictures of previous years on the rides at the fair. We went out to let the chickens out of the coop and found two eggs. Jacob was excited and said, “there’s a baby chick in there”. Then he put the egg by his ear and said, “I hear it”. This morning I got things packed for our day at the fair. Then I cut beans and soaked them in the sink to clean them off. Mom and Kenzie got there around 11:30. We packed lunches and left around noon. Today is kids day at the fair from 12-5pm. The kids rode on the train first. Jacob, Hailey, and Max held hands as we stood in line. They jumped around excited. Hailey and Jacob rode together while Adam and Max sat in the seat behind them. They had so much fun. After a couple rides on the flying elephants Mom, the boys, and I sat in the shade to eat our packed lunch. We then took the kids on the merry-go-round. Mel and I walked through the maze with the kids. The maze was full of mirrors and windows. The kids quickly learned to use their hands to feel where to turn. It was fun to watching them giggling as they tried to find the way to the stairs. Next, Mel and I took the boys on the ferris wheel. Mom took Kenzie to ride on a few “big kid” rides. The next ride we took them to had trucks and cars for them to “drive”. They all loved this ride. We’d get them off and got right back to stand in the short line. Adam had little patients waiting to get back on the ride. He’d lean towards the ride saying, “Mommy, Mommy”. I’d say something like, “are you ready for another ride?” and he nod his head yes. The kids rode the train again. Then we went for another ride on the merry-go-round. Jacob and Hailey wanted to sit on the bench this time. I sat with them while Mel stood between Adam and Max on the horses. Mel, Kenzie, Jacob, Hailey, Max, and I went a ride in the spinning dinosaurs. The dinosaurs would spin when you turned the wheels in the middle. What fun! The kids loved helping us turn in one direction and then switch directions. As we waited for the door to be opened we pretended the big wheels as a table. The kids made up some meals and we’d eat. Hailey made pizza and Jacob made pancakes. Mom had taken Adam on a couple rides on the merry-go-round. He looked so sleepy. It was getting close to 5:00 when Mel, Kenzie, and I took a ride together on the fly gliding ride. That’s our favorite ride and we ride it together every year. Jared was there and holding Jacob when we got done with that ride. Adam was asleep in the stroller. We sat in the shade and rested. Mom, Jacob and I went to fill up our water bottles. It was a very warm day and being in the sun all day made us very thirsty. We walked through the merchant barns and then the animal barns. Adam woke up to see the animals. Mom took us all out for dinner at fazoli’s. Jacob fell asleep in the stroller and slept through dinner. We got home around 8:30. Jacob wanted to eat his pizza since he had slept thru dinner. After a few bites he got down to use the potty. Kate climbe up on the counter and ate his pizza. Jared went outside to pick up the grass with the lawn sweeper. The boys liked watching him out the window. Jacob talked about his day and told me, “those girls, lots of girls, were screaming really loud on that thing that goes up and down”.

Great pictures! That first one sure shows how excited the kids were to ride the rides. I love their huge smiles.
