Day 10

Estavant Pines.

The rain woke the boys up around 4am. They both quickly put themselves back to sleep. I lay there and listened to the rain for a little while before going back to sleep. Adam woke up around 8am. Jacob was up soon after that. We ate a pancake breakfast at Grandma's before going on our morning walk around the campground. At 10:30 we headed out to Estavant Pines. Adam was carried in the backpack and Jacob hiked behind us. Jacob loved collecting a bunch of sticks. We let Adam out so he could play by the large trees. There was a dead tree that the boys could stand under. They thought that was fun. Adam continued hiking with us. He was doing really good for a while but then he decided he didn't want to walk anymore. I picked him up to carry him but he didn't want that either. He was unhappy about being put in the backpack. He had calmed down and we were coming to the long board bridges that Jacob loved walking over at Adam's age. We got Adam out to walk over them and he too loved them. He threw another fit because he didn't want to leave the bridge as we continue hiking. We got back to our van at 1pm. Headed back to camp for a late lunch. After lunch we took a walk over to the fort store. Jacob chased the geese into the water. On our walk back to camp the boys stopped to play/run around the flagpole. Then they took a nap and I got a little nap in too. After dinner we took a walk around the campground. Jared found a caterpiller and we put it in Jacob's bug container. Jacob named his caterpillar "Big Boy". Grandma took a walk with us took the playground. As we were walking back to camp Jacob asked to go to "pebble" beach. The boys loved throwing rocks into the water. I don't think Adam ever stopped picking up and throwing rocks on this visit. Its fun to watch him throw. He either puts his arm straight down and behind his back or up over his shoulder and behind his head before swinging out for the throw. It was around 9pm when we got back to camp. I took Adam down for his nightly bath. Grandma met us on the way and Adam held his arms out for her. She carried him to the big sink and got to watch him get cleaned. Daddy had a fire started when we got back. Grandma and Grandpa came to sit around the fire with us. I took Jacob for his shower. When we came back Adam was sitting/standing on Grandma's lap. Grandma would say, "ring around the rosie and they all fell down". As Adam sat down, he'd say, "don". Adam kept wanting down, so he came to sit on my lap for a little bit. Jacob asked to hold him so I set him on his lap for a little while. After Adam was in bed we made smores per Jacob's request. We were in by ty 11pm.
