DAY 14
Last year and this year on the bridge
Adam woke up around 6:30. He came into our bed and slept there until 7:30. The boys were excited to got over to Grandmas for breakfast. Adam nodded his head yes when we said the work pancakes. He stood at the door of the tent, clapped his hands, and said "yeh" as I unzipped it. Grandma got some crayons and paper for the boys to color on. We took a walk over to "pebble" beach. We walked a little further down from our usual black sand area and found another area of sand to play in. It was windy and there were some nice waves. Jaared threw the stick in for Truman to fetch. One wave came right over Truman's head. We got back to camp and ate lunch. Then we drove to the store for our pops. Jacob came in with me and picked out orange flavor pop for my drink. We went to Dennis's and picked out some more of his pottery to buy. We stayed and visited with him and Leslie. Grandma came there also. Jacob climbed up on Grandma's lap a couple times just to cuddle. We had a nice visit an dthen said our goodbyes until next year. We got back to camp around 3pm. The boys and I took a nap. I got up and we packed some things while the boys were still asleep. Jared tried to get me to sit in his fold up chair. I could tell by the smirk on his face he was up to no good. He had broken his chair while I was laying down. It was really busted bad. Grandma and Grandpa took us out for dinner at the Tamarak. After dinner we drove to camp to get some bread and then headed to the dock next to the Isle Royle dock. We all had fun feeding the geese. Jared kept trying to get the bread to land on their backs. The boys loved running around on the dock. Back at camp we took a walk over to the Fort to get some pictures of the boys on the cannons. Jacob loved playing on the cannon. The geese were hanging out in the yard by the fort. The boys followed them around until they all flew over us towards the water. I saw many of them poop as they flew off, so it was luckey we didn't get pooped on. We took the boys to run around the flagpole. We took a walk around the deck of the fort. Jacob and Adam liked running into the rooms or hiding behind the doors. Kevin and Kristen, who camped just a few sites down from us, have the same set of chairs as Jared and I. Jared took his busted chair down and hide their matching chair. He set it up so I didn't look busted. Dennis took pictures and he and Marsha were cracking up as Jared worked on his prank. We went out for ice cream around 9pm. When we came back the boys had their baths. Adam went to sleep after I lay him in bed. When I was taking Jacob for his bath I met Kevin on his way to our came, he was looking for JARED. Jacob sat around the fire with us. We went to bed at 12:00.
DAY 15 Jacob made Truman a "new leash and collar" out of the bungie cords.
Adam wanted them off.
Adam woke up crying at 2am. It took him ~15 minutes to fall back to sleep. Jacob woke up from his crying and said, "mommy, I'm so tired" and then he fell back to sleep. Jared and I got up soon after 7am. Adam woke up and played in the tent while I worked on packing things for the trip home. Soon Jacob was up and played in the tent. Jared took down the dining fly. Grandma came over and took the boys for a walk. Jacob made Truman a collar and leash from the bungie cords. It took several tries but we finally got everything packed in the van. Jacob carried the trash down to the dumpster with Daddy. Adam was walking down the road, following them. I mentioned pancakes and he quickly changed directions and went right to Grandma's site. After breakfast we got on the road by 10am. Jacob wanted Grandma and Grandpa to come with us. He is looking forward to seeing Nana. As we drove past the Jampot Jacob said, "I wanna go up Brockway mountain. Adam fell asleep by 10:30. Jacob asked, "why we not going at Nana's house?" Adam woke up when we stopped for gas in Calumet. The boys loved going over the Houghton/Hancock bridge. We stopped in Marquette for lunch at Fazoli's. I talked Jared into letting me drive. He took a turn in "Mommy's" seat. We were cracking up laughing becasue Jared thought he'd just relax and play his sudoki game, but the boys kept needing him for something. Jacob was full of questions like, "where's my home?" or "why we not going back at my camping site?"Adam thought it was fun to throw his book, say "uh oh", and have Daddy hand it back to him. Jared decided that, when the boys are awake, "Mommy's" seat is harder than the drivers seat. The boys fell asleep at 3 and slept until we arrived at the Machinaw bridge shortly after 5pm. The boys loved the drive over the bridge. Once we were over the bridge stopped to get out and stretch. The shore of Lake Huron sure had changed alot from last year. We made a quick stretching/change diaper stop around 7pm. Stopped at McDonald's to get the boys something for dinner. Got home at 8:30. The boys did really great on the long drive home. All the animals were doing great. Jacob and Adam were very excited to be home. They were even more excited when Nana and Papa came by for a visit. When I was talking to Jacob at bedtime I asked him what his favorite part about the Copper Harbor trip was. He responded with, "playing in the dirt and PANCAKES!".

NOBODY is EVER GOING to top the prank that Jared played on Kevin. I tried to tell Kristen what was going on so she would pull Kevin into it, but she did BETTER than that I would have ever hoped for ! ! ! Everyone thought it was GREAT ! ! ! That is except for Kevin, but he can take a joke.
PS, … Jared FYI, Kevin is trying to get even for CH 2009.
