Day 4

Hanging out in the dining fly during the storm.

Rainy day in Calumet.

The boys woke up around 6:15am. They seemed very tired during breakfast. We took a walk around camp and stopped at the playground. Adam stopped at the white line on the road to walk back and forth over it. Jacob picked a flower and said, “I picked one at Grandma”. We stopped at their site so he could give Grandma the flower. Grandma read “There goes a Duckling” to Jacob per his request. The camp host stopped by and told us there was going to be a storm with possible hail. We went back to camp to get the tarps around the dining fly. I made sure windows in the tent were closed and things were away from the sides of the tent. We sat in the dining fly during the storm. Jared and I played triominos and the boys played with the extra set of pieces. The storm didn’t last long maybe about an hour. After the rain was done we took a trip to Calumet. We ate lunch with Grandma and Grandpa at the Evergreen. Both boys had fallen to sleep on the drive and it took Jacob a while to wake up in the restaurant. After lunch we walked thru the church and then thru a couple stores. We picked out some saltwater taffy and that was a yummy snack on the trip home. Before going back to camp we took a drive up Brockway Mountain. Both boys fell asleep on the way up. They woke up when we opened the doors to get out. We went inside the gift shop and then went outside to walk around. Jacob took a tumble down the steps coming out of the shop. I just love the view from up on top of the mountain. Both boys sure liked the drive down the mountain. We stopped at Dennis’s and then walked across the street because Jacob had asked to sit on the big chair. On our way there he noticed the boat in front of the Pines Restaurant. The boys played on that before and after climbing up on the big chair. Back at camp we took a walk. Jacob asked Grandma to walk over to “pebble” beach with us. Grandpa was already over there. Jacob liked getting wet and walking in the sand to see it stick to him. Adam made his way to the water and enjoyed throwing handfuls of small rocks in the water. We stopped by at the fort store to let Jacob pick out a patch for his sweatshirt. We had sandwiches and applesauce for dinner. Jacob had fun riding his tricycle around. Adam likes to sit on it and have me push him around. Besides short naps in the car, the boys didn’t get naps today. Around 8pm we got them cleaned up for bed. We took a walk with Grandma around camp. When we got back to our site I tucked Adam in bed. When I say, “lets go read a book” he can’t seem to get in the tent fast enough. He says, “dum tuck, dum tuck” until I get out the dump truck book to read. Then he hurries to snuggle on my lap. Daddy read to Jacob and held him for a little while. We were in bed by 10:15.
