The boys woke up around 8am. Adam had a cough and runny nose. After I changed his diaper he ran right to the fridge saying, “dink, peease”. Adam finally mastered climbing onto the couch. Jacob played with playdoh and Adam colored while I cleaned out the art bags. Jacob and I sat down to have fun with paper and glue. Then he colored with markers. Adam pushed the dump truck back and forth down the hallway. Then he was crawling around (knees straight) with his head on the floor. He’d stand up, smile at me (happy to see I was smiling back at him), and do it again. Jacob played with his circular saw. He pretended to be cutting our trees down and came over to me saying, “tell (say), don’t cut my trees down cutter man”. Shortly after 1pm we headed to town to visit a park. It was a cloudy day and started sprinkling as we headed out our driveway. The temp was around 80 degrees. The park was really neat and a lot of fun. The boys and I loved it. Adam loved the big elephant and really tall giraffe. He kept pointing at them saying, “ah-see (horsie)”. Running thru the middle of the park is a stream with a sandy bottom and a pool. At one end of the stream was a bridge and the other end was a water fountain. The pool is in the middle. It has large wooden animals and alphabet letters. Jacob had fun jumping from the grass into the pool and running down the stream. Adam picked some flowers to hold under the fountain. He also enjoyed the running in the stream and playing in the pool. We took a walk on the path over to the toss-a-ball area. We played toss-a-pinecone since we didn’t have a ball. We got really close to a squirrel and the boys, especially Adam, enjoyed watching it. Adam took me over to the giraffe so he could pet him. He gave the elephant hugs and kisses. We had the place to ourselves for a while. A lady came with her 7 year old triplet girls. Two were identical and the third was fraternal. I had a nice time talking with their mom. All the girls told us goodbye as they left. The boys headed over to the drinking fountain, which had a little deck around it for kids to use as a step. The boys enjoyed splashing around in the fountain water. They especially laughed when Mommy stuck her head in the water. We sat down for snacks and drinks. Then we went back to play in the water. We played ring-around-the-rosie in the water. The boys loved when I swung them around and their feet splashed in the water. We left around 3pm. Stopped at Tim Horton’s and at couple garage sales on the drive home. Adam was asleep by the time we got home. He woke up as I carried him inside but fell back to sleep right away. He woke up from his nap at 5:30. Jacob watched the bulldozer video. Then he colored with markers at the counter. After dinner we all went outside. Jacob played in the sand. Adam came over with the shovel and shoveled up some sand into Jacob’s right eye. I took him in the house to rinse it out. Then we went back outside to play. Adam was looking at the sheep and goats. I walked over to him and he looked at me and said, “baa, baa”. When I asked him if he wanted to go see the sheep and goats, he shook his head yes and headed in their direction. He said “baa, baa” most of the walk over there. We went up in the fort to play. Daddy climbed backwards up the curly slide and Adam marched his feet with excited as he waited for him at the top. The boys drove their steering wheels. Jacob and I went down the straight slide. Adam and Daddy went down the curly slide together. Then boys played on the truck. Jacob liked driving it up into the pile of cut grass. Then he had Adam sit in the back as he put a board across to buckle him in. Adam and I took some apples over to the horses. Jacob and Daddy got some corn out for the chicken. They were sitting in the grass feeding them when Adam and I joined them. The chickens were eating out of Jared’s hand and he got pecked a few times. Adam would grab a handful of corn and head towards the chickens saying, “I (hi) chit-tins” We went back inside around 8:30. After getting into their pj's, the boys played with blocks. Jacob then emptied out winter container. They loved trying on hats and mittens. I'd help them put them on and then they'd run over to show Daddy. Adam asked to wear the mittens on his feet, so Jacob wanted to do the same thing.

What a cool park! Your towns have the neatest places for children! How lucky you are -- and how lucky Jacob and Adam are to have a mother who TAKES them to play in these places. The giant animals and letters are terrific and you were clever to work in JACOB the way you did. Not only is he learning to spell his name, but so is his mother -- in new and creative ways!

I love how you spelled out JACOB. That looks like a really fun park!

I just noticed that you posted pictures from kids day at the fair. I don't know why I missed it. I left a comment for you. I figured I better let you know since it's so far down that you might not see it. Oh, and I finally posted and got all the pictures on from our vacation. It took me so long because I wanted to publish them all at once and I was also having trouble posting pictures. I'll have to talk to you and see if you can tell me what I'm doing wrong cause it's taking me alot longer than I think it should to post the pictures.
