Jacob woke up in time for us to watch Clifford this morning. He has been going to bed in his underware for about the past week and is doing really well. This morning he said, "I dry, ewe wanna peel me Mommy". Adam woke up around 9am. Jacob played with his blocks this morning and took several to the couch. He showed me what he built and said, "I built work, like Daddy's work". I had a big 5lb bag of rice that I was going to use to make another draft snake. I dumped it into a container for Jacob to play with. I gave him my measuring cups and another container to play with. He had fun. Then I got some small block shapes to hide and let him find. Then he wanted to hide them on me. I covered my eyes but peeked at him hiding them. It was funny because he'd set the block on top of the rice and then grab handfuls of rice and cover them. He helped me find them and then I showed him how to push them under the rice. Adam sure does like to push things around the house. I got out the barn and basket of his Little People things. He loves to empty the basket and also enjoys pushing the buttons of the animals sounds on the barn. I put in a bible songs cd. Jacob and I colored while Adam played with his toys. It was cute to see the boys bouncing to the music as they played. Adam came to the kitchen and played peek-a-boo with his reflection in the dishwasher. Jacob looked at me and said, "I love coloring". We had lunch and then Jacob wanted to play with the rice again. Adam took a nap and Jacob rested on the couch. He read some books and played with three of his little cars. Daddy came home while Jacob was helping me feed the animals. Jacob wanted to play with the rice with Daddy. I got him his little tractor to play with in it. They played while I nursed Adam. Then we headed to town to walk around the mall. Took the boys to the kids area in Barnes and Noble. Jacob played on the Thomas train table with a couple other little kids. I read Adam some books. He really enjoyed the "Brown Bear Brown Bear" book that his cousin Andrew likes. Every time I'd turn the page he'd make a goofy laughing sound. When we got home it was time for dinner. After dinner Jacob wanted to play some more with the rice. Adam found the bib drawer and almost emptied it. It was funny to see him throw the bibs over his shoulder onto the floor. A HUGE spider came crawling out from under my sewing box and scared me. Jacob and Daddy admired it and then squashed it. Jacob said, "Dat a cool pider". This evening Daddy was hiding behind the chair in the living room and Adam would crawl to find him. As soon as Daddy would come out Adam would start crawling back towards me really fast and lay his head in my lap. He was laughing and went back to find Daddy. Soon he was heading back towards me before he even saw Daddy. While Daddy was putting Jacob pjs Adam played with his clothes. He especially liked his socks. Somehow he threw one on top of his head and couldn't get it off. Daddy put them on his hands with he really liked. The boys were in bed by 9pm and Jared and I watched Lost.

the camera's are back up too. I'm sure Jacob will like watching the falcons and their babies when we get to that point. Melissa's kids might like it too.

What a great day! And how wonderful that you got the measuring cups and things for the rice. Here is the beginning of mathematics, Kimmy! Measurement and volume and all kinds of equivalencies! Keep on keepin' on!

And Adam is obviously exploring deeper questions of philosophy: does a sock still exist if I cannot see it?

Kimmy... Seeing Adam in front of the stove reminds me that Andrew's head is probably at the same height as Adams. Andrew's head is about an inch or two under the handle of the oven at our house.
