Jacob was up around 8:30 and Adam at 9am. Jacob and I lay on the floor playing with his barn and money while watching Clifford. Adam played with his little people barn, which only lasted for a short while before he was off to something else. After I changed him he got down and drummed on his diaper garbage in his bedroom. He went back to the basket of little people toys and would push himself up to a standing position and stand there all proud of himself. Then he’d sit down and start over pushing himself up again. I tried to get it on video and by that time he was done of course. I got out the mega blocks to play with. Adam likes to look at all the different pieces. Jacob asked to look at my threads. He really enjoys looking at all the colors. I gave him a spool with a little thread on it and he pretended it was his fishing pool. I gave Adam an empty spool and he liked looking at it and chewing on it. The boys decorated Truman and Kate with some pieces of ribbon. Adam tried to get Truman to chew on his piece. Jacob said to me, “I wanna watch me Bob the Builder movie, dat-all make me toe happy”. After lunch we packed Jacob bags because he is staying at Nana and Papa’s tonight. He was very excited to help me pack his suitcase. He pulled it to the door for me to take out to the car. Adam was being really funny as he looked at the suitcase. He’d get so close his nose would touch and he stared at the picture on it. Around 2:30 we headed to my Mom’s house. Dad was there but Mom was picking up Kenzie from school. Jacob was really excited when Nana and Kenzie came in the door. He ran to greet them. When I told Jacob goodbye he gave me a really big hug and kiss and then ran off to play with Kenzie. Got home around 4:30 and Jared was already home. We moved Adam’s car seat in the truck and then headed to town to buy siding and nails. We also looked at lawn tractors. When we were walking into the store Jared saw a tractor outside that he really liked. He climbed up and sat down but stood up really quick because there was a large amount of water on the seat. I got a good laugh from that. We then went to TSC and picked up the things we needed for our chickens like food, feeders, and a water container. When we got home it was time for dinner. I called Mom to see how Jacob was doing. He talked to me and sounded like he was having so much fun. They were setting up the dominos to knock over. It was cold outside so I stayed in with Adam and Jared went outside to start taking the old siding off. He got it all off in about 45 min. Then I went outside to work on pulling all the nails out. I worked on that until I couldn’t see anymore. Adam was very tired because he didn’t get an afternoon nap except when he slept in the car. He didn’t even want to read after I nursed him. He fell right to sleep when I lay him in his crib. Jared and I watched Lost. We got to talk to Jacob and tell him goodnight.

So cute!!!
so what color is the house going to be now...since it wont be the blue house anymore. Hopefully it wont clash too much with the chicken house!
Eric...are you confused or am I confused. I thought it's the chicken house that's getting painted. I think playing with thread is just really fun to think about. How about buttons. Well, Adam might put them in his mouth. I remember putting paper on the floor and then the kids had buttons all over the place from old button boxes that came from Grandma R. They would pour them over their heads. The paper made it so much easier to pick up buttons. I imagined that buttons pouring over ones head really felt good. I just might need to bring you all a button box full of really neat buttons. I'll start saving empty spools. The pictures are wonderful. I say "hi there" to the little guys but they never answer me. What a bummer. Staying overnight at Nana's house is a great memory for Jacob.
Mom Kimmy said something about getting new siding. Thought the Chicken house was going to be painted Red so was wondering where the siding was going.
Buttons and thread . . . Hmmmm! Such fun to play with! And such fun to sort and match. Kimmy, if you give Jacob a dish with different compartments he can sort the buttons into the various compartments. The thread would be interesting to sort and match, too -- and maybe shade. Does he put all the reds together? The blues? Can he then start to lay the reds out from lightest to darkest? (Maybe you need to see whether Jared can do this first. That might give Jacob the idea.) I think Gradnma R is right -- the buttons may need to be something for Jacob while Adam is napping.
Sorry Eric to have confused you. We are putting up new siding on our chicken coop and then painting it red with white trim.
Jacob also enjoys playing with the handful of buttons I have. I think he would really enjoy sorting them in compartments - we'll try that.
I was confused too about what you were putting siding on. I was thinking the same thing as Eric. It'll sure look nice when it's finished. When are you getting the chickens? We'll have to bring the kids over to see them.
Hailey likes to play with buttons too. Our neighbor gave Hailey a bag of buttons. That's a great idea to have them sort them out in different compartments. We'll have to give that a try too.
