I took pictures as Jared stepped out of the car and discovered the skunk was uncovered.
This morning we left for church around 9:15. Jacob reminded us that he gets to bring "Berry" to church with him this week. After the service was over Jacob was excited to show us the Noah's arch picture he colored. Jared and I are in the nursury during second service. Adam liked having Mommy and Daddy back there with him. Jacob was excited to go back to his class again. We got home from church around 12:30. After lunch I did a little sewing. The boys had fun playing with Daddy. Jared went outside to pick up the mowed grass with the lawn sweeper. I vacuumed the bedrooms. Adam napped from 3-5. Jacob played with his moon sand. I dusted and vacuumed the rest of the house. Then we went outside. It was a beautiful day (low 60's and sunny). Jared got the sheets ready to cover the trap. First time he threw the sheet he was stepping on it and it landed in front of him instead of on the trap. After the sheet was over the trap Jared knocked the block off - that made the skunk spray. Whew - the stink was bad! Jacob joked that it smelled like popcorn. Jacob and I played in his sand. Jared mowed down the corn stalks in the garden. After Adam woke up we took a drive to the city forest to release the skunk. I followed behind Jared in the van. On the drive there, I noticed the sheet that was covering the skunk blow off. Soon the van smelled like skunk. I wanted to warn Jared that it had blown off but couldn't. He was surprised when he got out of the car and was facing the skunk. He covered it back up and then carried it out a ways and opened the door. The skunk sprayed again when Jared was covering it. We waited and watched the skunk come out and go into the woods. Then we drove to town for a few thing. Got home around dinner time. During dinner Adam discovered a new form of hair styling gel - applesauce. He took handfuls and rubbed it in his hair. I gave Kate a bath to get off the skunk smell. We've smelled enough skunk for one day. Jared has a test tomorrow so this evening, for him, was mostly spent studying for that. Jacob likes rolling up the kitchen rug and halling it around in his dump truck or spreading it out on the living room floor. We had fun playing together and listening to music. After the boys were done with their bath it was reading time. Daddy read Jacob his Bible and I read to Adam. After I tucked Adam in bed I read with Jacob. As we talked about his day he told me all about what he learned in Sunday school. He also talked about bringing Berry and told me what kinds of animals the other kids had brought. After the boys were tucked in, Jared and I watched some I Love Lucy episodes. We had popcorn and then some ice cream.

Kimmy you should have had the video camera ready when Jared was trying to put the sheet back on the skunk..that would have been some good laughs there
Love Adam's new hair style with the applesauce. Too funny!
What a treat that Adam has parents that can see the funny side of applesause hair treatments. Hum... at least it isn't tomato paste or something like that. I LOVED the picture. Kids are such fun. Compared the the SKUNK stories...applesause is a piece of cake. Keep your eyes open. There is more fun to come. Adam's latest is my screen saver!
