Jacob tasting the flour.

Daddy's handprint.

Fun with Daddy.

Sparklers.

The boys woke up at 8am. We were heading to church by 8:45. Jacob made friends quickly with a new girl named Coral. After snacktime Jacob, Coral, and Mugumi (all 3yr olds) enjoyed playing together in the kids play house. They sat around the table and had fun pretending with the play foods. As Jacob left the house he said, "I Daddy, I gotta got to work". Coral was standing at the door and he said to her, "give me a kiss", they kissed right on the lips. We left around 11:30 and ate a packed lunch. Then we walked around Salvation army. We went to Tim Hortons for coffee and donuts. After there we went to the grain elevator for chicken food. We then stopped at meijer for groceries. When we got home Jacob helped me carry groceries into the house. As we walked to the coop to collect eggs Adam turned and started to walk down the driveway. Jacob guided him back into the direction of the coop as he softly said, "you can't got that way, Daddy might drive up there, we gotta collect the eggs, come on this way Adam". As Jacob collected the egg he said, "I'm gonna leave this egg for Adam". Jacob showed Adam the egg and put it into Adam's basket. Adam now likes to swing his basket all over so the egg didn't stay in there long. Adam napped from 3:30-5:30. Jacob played with his cars at the little table. Jared came home around 5pm. We made pasty's for dinner. And we also made lots of extra pasty's to store in the freezer. The boys enjoyed playing in the flour. After dinner Jacob and Adam had fun with Daddy. They played chase and hide-and-go-seek. Jacob sure is quiet as he hides now. As Adam ran to hide he'd say, "ide (hide)". We went outside to take care of the animals. The farmers are still working on harvesting the sugar beets. Jacob saw the trucks they were loading them into and said, "thats the biggest truck I ever saw!" We found a few boxes of sparklers and did them tonight. The boys sure enjoyed them. I helped Adam hold one, but he wanted to do it himself. I gave him one to hold but then he wanted to put it right up by his eyes. It was 8:45 when we came back inside. The boys helped pick up toys and then we got them into their pj's. Adam has learned to say "moo" when asked what sound a cow makes.

I'm thinking...How about some pasties for Georgia? Just a thought. I remember those huge sugar beet trucks...They are huge and Jacob is right. They are huge. The flour pictures are great. I don't think I ever did flour play with the kids. Adam has such a great big brother. The egg out of the basket made me laugh. What a kid.

Yes, how about some pasties for GA? We might snack on some while Kimmy is watching Lucy. . .

Always remember that we preschool teachers got to learn an awful lot about families by watching what children take for granted. Home play sure tells a lot about what values are being lived in the home. Jacob appears to be exhibiting some loving behaviors -- and his great-uncle is happy to read about it.
