Adam was having a difficult time getting down the steps with the basket. Jacob took the basket and softly said, "I'm just helping you get down". After helping him he gave him the basket back. I thought it was sweet. Adam soon lost interest in the basket and ran over to the apple tree.

Here are some pictures of Jacob collecting the eggs. He always likes when he finds a warm one or a green one.

They were playing in it even before the pile was very big.

The silly person behind the camera has leaves on her head. Now Adam does too.

There is a hole in the tree. Jacob put his stick in it to get the spider webs.
Jacob is towing his truck.

The boys woke up around 8:30. During breakfast Jacob said, “I can do a lot of things, not Adam”. When I asked him what kinds of things he can do, he said, “play with trucks and collect eggs”. Then he said, “I like watching the lightning-thunder (fireworks), and Lailey (Hailey) said POPCORN!” He said, “I can do anyfing”. After Jacob was done with his breakfast he hid under the table. He said, “I’m hiding, tell Adam I’m looking for your brother”. Adam wrapped up one of the balls from his ball popper in a piece of paper and said, “ball – nigh nigh” as he carried it from the chair to the couch. We watched Clifford. Adam has a “runny” nose and if I don’t wipe it soon enough he’ll use his arm to wipe his nose. When I say to Adam, “let me wipe your nose” he comes running over to let me wipe it. Then he’d lift up each arm for me to wipe them also, even if they aren't dirty. Jacob played with his moon sand and I also got out his zoo animals. I also gave him an egg carton to play with. He pretended it was an ark and arranged his animals in it. The he closed it and said, "its raining". When he opened it he said, "now it stopped raining". Adam was playing with some blocks when he noticed a ladybug crawling across the floor. He picked it up to show me. As he watched it crawl he said, “hi, fie-fly (butterfly)”. Jacob came down from the counter to watch the ladybug crawl around. He tried to protect the ladybug from Adam's busy hands. The ladybug wasn’t looking so good. Jacob wanted to let him go outside. He said, “him gotta go home to see God”. Jacob was eating some crackers but didn’t want the rest. He brought them to me and said, “please, I can put this in a lip-lock (ziploc)”. As we picked up toys we sang the “clean up” song. Adam also sang “keen up, keen up” over and over with the song. It was so cute. Then we went outside to play. I raked a big pile of leaves to play in. The boys ran thru it. Then Jacob wanted to bury his truck in the leaves. He then sat in the truck. He liked to climb on the truck and jump into the leaves. He'd pretend to get hurt and want me to be the doctor and fix it. Adam would play in the leaves and then go explore something else before coming back to the leaves. We took a walk to the back yard and Jacob wanted to find some pretty leaves. He’d ask what kind of leaf it was and also asked why the leaves were falling off the trees. Then Adam asked to swing. The boys took turns in the swing and then we played in the fort. Jacob said, “I am tall, I can go down the yellow slide”. He had fun going down the curly slide. We came back inside at 2:30. Read a couple books while eating a snack. Adam napped from 3-5pm. Jacob played with the zoo animals and his barn. The he had fun drawing on pieces of paper. Then he’d run to hang it on the fridge. I was laying my head on Jacob’s back and pretending to snore. He was laughing and said, “tell (say), why is my pillow laughing”. After Adam was awake we got out the puzzles. Jacob had a more difficult puzzle. He wanted me to go away so he could “surprise me” and do it all by himself. He’d get frustrated and I’d come back to tell him what to look for in the next piece. I came back for just about every piece except the last one. He was very excited to show me the puzzle he’d done “all by himself”. Jared had a work meeting so didn’t get home until around 5:30. After dinner we headed over to the library. Circle Time is done until next month but today they had Family Story Time. The books and puppet shows were all about families. Jacob loved the stories and the puppet shows. He didn’t want to participate in any of the activities, but instead shyly sat in his seat. He did get up to help the lined up kids try and pull the turnip out. When he turned around and saw us smile back at him he shyly ran back to his seat. Adam really enjoyed being there also. He love the puppet show, “who loves me?”. He’d point at the kitty and then turn to us with a smile and say, “meow”. During the puppet show he’d run up to the chair next to the teacher, sit in it, and then run back to me. He liked saying “hi” to the people. Afterwards they served pie and milk. Jacob didn’t like the pie but Adam did. Adam refuses to let us put a single bite in his mouth so Daddy would put it on the fork for him and he’d then eat it. The boys played on the train table. We got home around 8:30. The boys had a snack as we listened to some music. Then they brushed their teeth and we got them into their pj’s. Daddy and Jacob read the bible while I read to Adam. After tucking Adam into bed, Jacob and I lay on our bed and read the books we’d gotten tonight.

Good morning. The chicken's laying nests still impress me. What a builder. JB's grandpa would be so proud. Another great day outside. Time at the library is a great way to end the day. Love the grandchildren stories.

Pulling out the turnip, huh? That is a great story, isn't it? Who all pulled in this one? Was it a mouse who ended up being the last one in line and making the difference?

Do they know the story "The Mitten"? There is a version with pictures by Jan Brett that is nice.

I enjoy how clever the guys are in making up games and helping each other out. (Well, I guess it is Jacob who is being he clever creator at this point . . .)

It was a little bird that made the difference. Thanks for the suggestion (always appreciated). We'll have to check out "The Mitten".
