Jared here, filling in for Kimmy. Not sure how many pictures will be posted as Kimmy is cleaning up a slide that we junk picked tonight. Fun day today, I helped a neighbor with roofing his house. Good crew of about 6 guys, worked on it from about 2-5 and then from about 8:30pm to 11pm. Everyone else pretty much worked the whole day. Went to Sanford Lake Park to meet up with Vikki and Mykenzie. It costs 5 bucks to get into the park and since we were only going for an hour or 2 Kimmy and I decided to park a ways out and walk into the park. They don't charge to walk into the park. All the surrounding streets are marked with no parking signs so we had to park about a half mile from the park entrance. And then once in had to walk another half mile to where Vikki and Mykenzie were waiting for us. Did a little evening swimming. Jacob was getting brave and he walked out to about armpit depth. He was having a blast. Adam roamed the shore line and enjoyed grabbing handfulls of sand and throwing them into the water.
Now to get to the good stuff. So when we got home from the lake around 8pm or maybe a tad after that, I let the dogs out. I was locking up the chickens and as I turned around I noticed Kate was walking out into the pasture. The grass was high and I could only see her tail. Where she was going was not typical path for her to walk. I then noticed that in front of her were what appeared to be two black and white tails in the upwards position. Wasn't sure if it was two tails or just one as the grass was high and they were moving about a bit. Kate was way too close so I yelled and yelled. Well if you know Kate you know that once she's got an idea in her pea size brain no amount of yelling will filter in. So I figured I'd run into the house for the .22 to see if I couldn't plunk a skunk. As I ran back outside I got the slight wiff of an odor that I was afraid might happen. She had been following those skunks for a while when I turned to head into the house so I thought there was the slight chance that they'd not spray. Ok very slight. As I approached the pasture Kate came flying into the barn I ran through the barn to hopefully get sight of the skunks coming out the other end of the tall weeds. Nothing emerged and Kate didn't follow me. I turned back to go into the barn and there was Kate lying in the middle of the barn. I hoped she didn't get nailed to bad so I walked up too her got down to right in front of her face and inhaled deeply. The next thing I remember was waking up in the middle of the barn about a half hour later. Ok not really, but WOW did she get nailed! WO. So she's currently living in the barn. The place smells of skunk and I'm getting a little sick and tired of them. So varments be ware. Kimmy knows of a cleaning concoction that when she worked at the vet would give out to those dog owners with skunkified dogs. Crazy dog. So that's about it for the adventure of Kate vs. Skunk. Kate 0 : Skunk 2. As bad as Kate smells I gave the Skunk and extra point . Thats it for now... We'll keep you posted on when and if Kate's allowed back into the house.

I knew there would be a Kate Skunk story. Just when was the question. I hope you kill them soon. They have lived long enough on the farm. Poor baby Kate...her over active brain gets her in trouble every time. How about a little Ritilan for her. Now...slide...that's that all about. Sounds like there are dumpster divers in the family. It's as good as Goodwill. Cheap and fixable. Humm...20 more sleeps.
I knew it too that she would get nailed one of these days too when you first started talking about the snunks on the farm...maybe we should have taken bets on when it was going to happen
Good pictures. Good story.
How about a picture of poor Kate? Can you get close enough to snap one?
I can hear JB's brain when we talk about poor Kate. He would say...Dumb dog. Poor Kate.
