Jacob liked carrying things in his new backpack.
Talking on their phones.

Sticking out their tongues for the camera
Writing his name

Jacob liked jumping from the top of the slide.
Jacob gave Adam a ride.
Admiring their rocks.
Feeding the chickens.

I stayed up late sewing and making a backpack for Jacob. We slept in this morning. It was almost 10am before I woke up, and the boys woke up soon after that. The morning seemed to go by really fast. After lunch I worked on laundry, did some sewing, and played with the boys. I made Jacob a little tote bag. Adam was holding the phone up to his ear and said, “hi, bye”. I got out the dry erase markers and dry erase paper. Jacob and I had fun drawing on that. After dinner tonight we made a trip to meijer and home depot. Jacob was running in meijer and when Daddy told him to walk he said, “look, I just really wound up”. Before going into home depot we took a drive by the tractors for the boys. They both love seeing them. When we got out of the car Adam pointed at them and said, “tac-ter”. They had fun riding in the car cart together. When we got home we went outside for a little bit. Jacob watched Daddy reset the live trap. We caught Tiger in it today. The boys went for a ride in the wagon. Jacob and Daddy feed corn to the chickens. The chickens ate out of their hands. It was almost 9pm when we came inside.

You really do have free range chickens. What happens when they start laying eggs? Will the fence come back? 15 more sleeps till we are on the road to Michigan. 16 more and we'll have some great neighbors.

The boys look like they have great fun playing with each other. I love the pictures. Funny how Jacob said he was wound up. That had to make you laugh. Adam sure says quite a few words now. He's getting so big. I love the back pack. I bet Jacob was excited about it. Love ya!

. . . 2 weeks . . .

I don't know if I can face this.

Grandma R, please have some pity on those of us who will be without ANY picture for TWO FULL WEEKS!!!

Well, Bro. C...I'll do my best to think about you but I know it won't be the same. Knowing Kimmy...she will write something every day but it just won't be on the computer. Well, it might be but pictures? You may need to think about discipline! We'll be visiting the Brothers at the Jam Pot. Does that help? Probably not. Kimmy...I haven't heard what will happen if you catch the skunk in the Have a Heart trap? Will you have a HEART? Package in the mail. Might come on Sat. Then again it might appear on Monday. Never tried a Back Pack. You are good.

Humm...Exactly what is a Have a NO HEART trap. That means to me the skunk is killed, kaput, murdered, dead! But the trap didn't kill the cat. This must be a "smart" trap. So...what is the good things about the trap. Only good skunk is a dead one! Maybe you could chase it to the highway with the hope that someone else doesn't have a HEART. Kimmy...HAVE A HEART. Two weeks with no post is painfully heartless. Just a hello would help.

There is a skunk in the trap today. The trap is actually called Have a Heart trap, because it just shuts the door on them. Jared calls it Have no Heart because he plans on shooting the skunk. We cant have it killing our chickens, eating the eggs, or spraying our dogs (or us).

OK...now the skunk is going to be shot. Good idea. Does the skunk get shot will it's in the trap? Seems to me the trap will be kuput if that happens. Can you smell the skunk or did you see the skunk? Do you have another trap for the baby? Just way to many quesitons. Good idea to save the chickens. They are so pretty. Do they follow you around thinking you are their parents? Humm...More questions.

I see Jared is going to have a varmit hanging on the wall soon...hopefully it wont stink up the place too much after he does his thing with it. I'm guessing its out in the pasture and not close to the house/barn?

The Daddy said...

Wonder if there will be pics of the varmit?? Are you brave enough kimmy to get that close?

The Daddy said...

the chickens are getting big too...so when are they going to start earning either keep and lay eggs??

I would make a suggestion that Kimmy uses some of that destinking soap to scrubb the varmit. It worked on Kate...why wouldn't it work on the varmit. It would look just right stuffed or stretched on the wall in the workshop right next to the pegboard. Eric, I think the chickens are to lay eggs when JB/family are camping if I remember correctly. I spotted the handsome rooster. Elegant to say the least. This skunk has provided much to think and talk about. Go Skunk.

Too bad you didn't catch it in the winter time when the fur would be thicker but I'm sure it will look pretty good hanging on the wall next to snowball (the cat)...opps hope dust bunny isn't reading this

Kimmy...I've heard you can clean up anything. You are up to any challenge. Take the bait. Go Girl. I'm right behind you. Well, perhaps 40 feet behind you come to think of it. What's the plan for the baby skunk? I'm sure there is one.

I like the backpack. Great job. I bet Jacob will love filling it up and carrying it around.

Humm...It's 9:25...waiting for a skunk story. The story delay makes me think that there must be a complication. Now what could that be...the gun didn't fire, the gun fired but the shooter missed, the shooter got sprayed while shooting the gun. Perhaps...all of the above. I need a story.

The chickens should be laying eggs soon - around the time were in Copper Harbor, I think. The chickens are pretty tame but don't always follow us. When they do its funny because there are so many. The skunk we caught isn't the same baby skunk I saw. This baby skunk was black on his face, neck and legs but otherwise was all white. We only saw the mom that one time.
