"dis my struction worker coat"
Adam loves to push around this dump truck.
I went to the kitchen and when I came back this is what the boys were doing.
She's finally allowed back in the house.
The boys woke up around 9am. I went into the kitchen and when I came back out Jacob was pushing Adam around in the stool (pictured above). Then I pushed Jacob around for a turn. We played some hide and seek. The boys had more fun on the slide again today. This afternoon we went outside to give Kate a de-skunk smell bath. On our way we found we sat a little baby barn swallow in the barn. I took a picture of it. It was so cute. Jacob pet it and it flew about a foot away. Then, out of nowhere, came Peter (the barn cat). He pounced on it and all we could see is its little wings sticking out of his mouth as he turned and ran off. Jacob shrugged his shoulders and said, “dat ok, maybe nother one come back”. Today we can only smell Kate’s stink if you get close to her. We gave her a bath outside. After her bath she smells a lot better except on her muzzle. We had to do that a few more times. We came back inside at naptime. Adam slept for about 2 hrs. Jacob drew on his easle with his dry erase markers and played with his letter magnets. He also liked scooping the letters with his tractor. I did some sewing. Jacob asked to watch the Copper Harbor video so we watched that. Once Daddy was home Jacob and I went outside to feed the animals. We saw another baby bird in the barn. Jacob told me what he was going to tell the cats and said, “I tay grrrrrr, no eat dem birdies”. During dinner the spill proof plug came out of Adam’s sippy cup. Daddy picked it up and said, “uh oh”. Adam copied him and said, “uh oh” several times. After dinner we went outside and set up the little Eureka tent. We had fun sitting inside the tent – it just smelled like camping! Then I picked weed from the garden. The boys played in the sand and also with their truck. Adam liked shoveling sand and dumping it in the driveway. We came back inside around 8:30. I talked to Mom for about 30 minutes while the boys played. Then it was time for bed. As Jacob talked about his day he mentioned the cat eating the bird. He said, “no dat cat gonna eat me, just birdies”.

poor bird Kate looks like she was haveing soooooooo much fun getting her bath. At least she's deskunkified at least till the next time she gets something in her little head. Wonder if Jared's got varments hanging in the barn yet
Keep the gun handy. We've got to protect Kate. She need all the help she can get. Bags...The Russell boys each had a bag to collect things in. If you still are in the bag mood you might want to make jacob and Adam one to carry on the trails and down to the beach to do some collecting.
You are really getting the camping mood, aren't you?
Kate sure looks happy to be back inside.
Well, for the skunk problem, Jared is using a live trap. So far we've only caught Peter (the cat) in it. Jacob and Adam's bags are next. Good idea to make a bag for collecting things in. I'm so EXCITED! Mel, Kate is very happy to be back inside and, crazy as it may sound, were happy to have her back in:)
Live trap...Then what do you do with a trapped skunk? Are you thinking this out? How about throwing a stick of dinomite?
It's called a "Have-no-Heart" Trap. I think that says it all.
Jared
