Grandpa getting ready to blow out his candles.

Yummy frosting.

I asked Adam to smile and he said, "cheese". This is the picture I got.

To get the following group pictures it took a handful of Smarties (candy) and Kenzie's help.

Jacob came down to the bedroom around 4am saying that he had to go potty. After he was back in bed, I lay in bed awake for a little while. Soon our dogs started barking at some high pitched coyote barking. It sounded like they were in our yard. I knew the coop door was open, so I woke up Jared and we went outside to check on the chickens. The chickens were all around the outside of the coop. We couldn't get a good count on them as they ran towards the barn and it was too dark. The pack of coyotes were still barking loudly. Jared thought they sound like they were in the next field over. It was so loud. I wish I'd have taking my camera out and video taped them. All of the sudden all the barking stopped and it was so silent. We went back to sleep until the alarm went off at 5:40. Jacob woke up at 7:15am. I woke Adam up at 7:30 because I wanted to be heading to town by 8:15. The boys wanted to play with puzzles at the counter after breakfast. I love watching Jacob arrange the animals on his bed after I help him make it. He first put on his John Deere pillow and then the animals which he covered with a blanket. At night he likes to move his pillow to the bottom of his bed to sleep and in the morning he moves it back. We were on the road by 8:20. I had to stop and pick up my background report to take to the church where I watch the kids each Wednesday. Jacob was looking forward to going there. The boys love pretending with the play kitchen. Jacob made me several pots of capuccinos and some pizza. There were six kids in the class today and a man named Jerry to help me. Jacob reminded Jerry that he had told him he could watch Thomas Train this week. There is a little ~10 month girl named Satchi. She has a very high pitched cry and the past two weeks she had cried the entire time unless put in the swing where she has fallen to sleep. She and her twin sisters were at Circle Time last night. I held her and tried to comfort her. Adam came over crying and wanting to be held also. I took them to the rocker so I could read to them. Adam was happy with that. Satchi cried off and on. Adam got down to play. I took Satchi over to play on the piano by her sister. She liked that. Then I got out the blocks. She enjoyed knocking them over when I'd stack a few. Her sister and another little girl came over to stack blocks with us. Jacob helped me pass out drinks and snacks at snack time. Jacob and another 3 year old boy lay down on the big rug that has roads for them to drive their cars on. We left around 12. It was sure alot of fun. We stopped at Salvation army and Tim Horton's on the way to Nana's house. She wasn't there so we played outside until Dad got there around 3pm. The weather was beautiful (around 70 degrees). The boys played in the sand box and on the swings. Jacob had fun swinging on his belly. When Adam got to close Jacob quickly stopped swinging so he wouldn't hit him. I said , "wow Jacob, you stopped really fast, that was really nice of you to watch out for Adam". After that, he was extra careful. He would stop when Adam would even get close to the swingset. I heard Adam say, "hi birdie" and he was petting something in the grass. I walked over to find him petting a dead baby bird. Dad got there around 3pm and let us in the house. I lay a very tired Adam down for a nap. Jacob played with his cars and then he and I rested in Kenzie's bed. Kenzie got there around 4:30. Today she rode the school bus for the first time in a really long time. She seemed excited about that. Soon Nana was there. Kenzie and I baked a banana cake for Grandpa's birthday party. Jacob went outside with Papa. Jared (who had just came her after work)brought Jacob inside because he tripped on the cement and skinned up his knee. Mom went to the store to pick up some ice cream. Jared helped Kenzie with her homework. After dinner he and my Dad went downstairs to play pingpong. Jacob and Adam also wanted to go down there. Mel and her family arrived soon followed by Grandpa, Aunt Jodi, and Uncle Steve. I got to hold Jack and hear him cooing. He soon fell asleep in my arms. Jacob and Adam climbed up in the chair with me and gently rubbed Jack's head. We sang "Happy Birthday" to Grandpa and he blew out his candles. The kids liked licking the frosting off of them. Adam enjoyed his cupcake and ice cream. Jacob said he wanted "cookie ice cream (cookies n cream) but only ended up eating the chocolate cake. He was excited to get down and play with the kids. They had fun together. Kenzie played hide-and-seek with them. Adam had brought a doll up from downstair. He gave her hugs and was so sweet with her. He set the doll in the baby swing and gave her some pushes. Nana put in the Cars dvd. Jacob and Max sat on the couch watching that until it was time to leave. Jacob fell asleep in the car within minutes. Adam was asleep after about halfway. We had to stop at meijer for a few things. I went in and Jared stayed out with the boys. We got home by 10:30.

The group pictures of the kids turned out really good. That sure was alot of work. Just think what it will be like when twin girls are added to the group.

I just looked at that first group picture of the kids again, and that really is a great picture. I can't believe we got one with everybody looking and even smiling. Wow, it was worth all the work (I mean bribing) that it took. :)
