This morning we slept in until ~9am. Jacob came in bed to cuddle with me. Soon Adam was awake and we got up to eat breakfast. After Sesame Street we went outside to play. The boys played on the swing, slide and up in the fort. Adam followed Jacob up the steps to the fort and then he went down the slide. Jacob prepared me some mac&cheese and some lemonade. We came back inside at lunchtime. Jacob played in the food cupboard, sat on the cooler and shut the door. He’d peek out and say, “I’m Daddy, I just going at work, I got me lunch (a bag of sugar)”. He found some Jell-O boxes and asked to make it. We made Jell-O for Jell-O jigglers and put it in the fridge to cut out later. Jacob played with the moon sand and then we got out his paints and he painted some pictures. Adam did a little coloring. While he was looking at his caterpillar book he pointed at the shiny flowers and said, “pity (pretty)”. He also says it while pointing at the ceiling fan in his bedroom. After I change him he always wants to kneel and look out his bedroom window. He points at the big tree and says, “tee”. After Jacob was done resting he helped me cut out the jigglers. He didn’t want to take a bite but did enjoy licking one. Then he played in the cupboard again. He came out with a big smile and sugar around his mouth and on his chin. I found the opened bag of sugar sitting on the cooler. We went outside until Daddy came home. I picked weeds out of the garden. Jacob likes walking over the row of beans with his feet on each side of them. He came over and helped me pull some weeds. When Daddy came home Jacob ran to greet him with a big hug. Adam woke up as soon as we came inside. I got a couple slivers out of Jacob’s hand. We all went back outside until dinner. We took a walk over to the goat’s new paddock and walked through the woods. Jacob liked walking through the tall grass. Both boys found some sticks to play with. After dinner we took a drive to pick up the Geo Metro. Jared was excited to drive it home. Jacob fell asleep in the car on the way there. He stayed sleeping in the car while Jared talked to the mechanic. I took Adam inside to visit with Mel and the kids. Hailey came over to me and said, “you know what? I love you”. Max brought his ride-on truck over and wanted Adam to ride on it. Adam loved hugging Hailey's doll and carrying it around. We stayed until shortly after 9pm. Adam gave Aunt "Meme" several hugs and kisses goodbye. We stopped for gas and also made a quick stop at Bruce’s work before going home. On the drive Jacob saw Daddy drive through a blinking yellow light and said, "I wanna tell Daddy, dat mean caw-on (caution), low down". Daddy is alway telling him the yellow light means "go faster" and I tell him it means caution, slow down. Lately, while were driving, Jacob likes to ask questions like, "where we going now, why we going dis way (when we turn), what we doing". We got home late and I gave the boys a quick bath before bed. They were very tired.

I noticed the boys are wearing long sleeved shirts. Must be cold up north. Thanks again for the visit. The sugar story is great. You could plan a few surprises like leaving a book in the cupboard or how about a stuffed animal. What a neat little place to play.

Good stories as always.

I am curious whether Jared would take slivers out of Jacob's hand -- or whether he would take out splinters. I used to get splinters (and I still do) but I have noticed others get slivers. (I think this may be related to how you pronounce the word "greasy" -- with a /z/ or an /s/ sound.)

Jared here,

I would remove splinters and would say greaC
