Jacob lay on our bed this morning with his head on a pillow and his feet on the wall. He said, “my peet maa-in (matches) dis wall”. Then he’d pull his feet close and count his ten toes. We went outside shortly after 9am to feed the animals. Jacob played with his tractors in the dirt and then came with me to the chicken coop. He put his hand on the coop door and said, “dat door dry and we can touch it, you wanna peel it?” When we came inside Adam was awake, crying and very stinky. Jacob always hands me one diaper to use and then sets another one on the dresser saying, “I got you nother one, dat por later”. We had a thunderstorm this morning, which had both dogs scared. We lost power only long enought to have to reset the clocks. The boys and I played hide and seek. Adam sure loves to come find us and Jacob loves to be found. Jacob got out his fishing pole and marched around the house singing, “dis my own pishing pole, dis my own pishing pole. I packed the boys bags for our trip south and got some laundry. While we are sitting at the table lately Jacob likes to do things like pat his head and the chair, put his fist by his cheeks, or blink his eyes. I decided to teach his how to play “Simon says”. We had lots of fun. Adam especially liked when we’d march, clap our hands, or turn in a circle and he’d copy us. Jacob has this matchbox road roller, which he likes to show us. As he does he says, “dis a roller, it flattens out the road”. Jared came home from work around 3:30 and we drove to the auto shop so Jared could talk to the mechanic about our Geo Metro. Then we went to the mall to walk around. Took the boys to play with the train and then at the play area in the middle of the mall. Jacob loves to play with the kids and I love watching him interact with them. He especially liked playing with a little boys around his age. One time they were running in opposite directions and when they met up they smacked into each other banging heads. They didn’t cry and were back to playing right away. It was dinnertime when we got home. I gave the boys their bath and got them in their pj’s. We had to go back to town because we had forgotten to stop at meijer and the dogs needed food. Adam sure did drool a lot today. Guess I got to get the drool bibs back out, he went through several shirts.
