Kenzie brought the butterfly case into the bedroom this morning to show me that the tent caterpillar, they put in there yesterday, had formed a cocoon. Jared and Kenzie left for Mom’s house. She stayed with Mom and Jared left for work. The boys woke up at almost 10am. Got a call from Mom that Jared wasn’t there yet to pick up Kenzie. He had to meet with the mechanic and was going to drop Kenzie off on his way. He was supposed to be at Vikki's house at 9:45 because Kenzie had to be there for the "home study" in her adoption process (Rody is adopting her). It was past 10am and he wasn't even to Mom's yet. Anyway, there was a misunderstandings. Mom got Kenzie to Vikki's on time. I was very happy when Mel told me that Jared was finally there (the mechanic is her neighbor). Jacob played with the buildabear clothes and put his tiptoes into the bear shoes. He brought his butterfly case over to me and said, “you wanna tee dat raccoon (cocoon), right dere”. This afternoon we went to town for a few things and did some Father’s Dad shopping. We took the boys birthday checks to the bank. Jacob was excited to carry his receit. Jared got home before us and had the back yard mowed. Both boys fell asleep on the drive home. Adam woke up when we got him out of the van but Jacob didn’t want to wake up. He slept on the couch while we ate dinner. Around 7pm we decided to wake him up so he would sleep well tonight. He had a really hard time waking up. I made him a grilled cheese sandwich and we all went out onto the back deck. While we were planting the tulip bulbs I noticed a white and black animal walking around our lilac bush and then into the ditch. I asked Jared what it was and he said, “you mean Jo (our calico cat) going into the ditch”. Then we saw it was a white and black skunk and her black and white baby. They walked across the road. Jared went out on the road with the binoculars and Jacob followed him to the end of our driveway. I noticed the skunks going across the neighbors driveway and pointed them out to Jared. Jacob came back with a turned up nose and said, “no me want dat to hit me, dat would be ewe”. We got a package in the mail from Grandma. It had two containers with caterpillars in them. Jacob was really excited to open up the package and loved looking at them. Its going to be fun to watch them change into butterflies.

I was relieved to see Jared this morning too. I felt so bad for you cause I know exactly how you felt. Bruce did something like that not too long ago and I was very worried, but it all ended up being a misunderstanding too. Glad everything was ok.

Yahoo...the mail has arrived. Skunks...you do live in the country. Grilled Cheese...was it as good as Grandma's?

Planting flowers this morning. I'm sick of the rain that is making the annuals look puny. More coming this afternoon.

I love those colorful pants Jacob is wearing in that first picture! I would like a pair similar to them -- only larger.
