Jacob came in our bedroom around 8:30. He lay there next to me playing with his cars until around 9am. He wanted me to play with his bus and pick the kids up for school. After breakfast Jacob made a couple seat inside the toy box out of soft books. He pretended to drive his truck and said the other seat was for Adam. Adam slept in until 10am. After the boys were done brushing their teeth this morning Adam said, “dal-daa (all done)”. We went outside to let the chickens out of their coop. I used some rope and s-hooks to hang their water containers. Jacob likes holding things for me and handing them to me when I needed them. Adam enjoyed watching the chickens. He likes to bend over and try to hug them. Jacob got some chicken poop on the top of his foot and on his flip flop so we went to the hose to spray off his foot and shoe. We went inside for lunch. Adam likes to walk over to me or the dogs and say, “I (hi)”. We went into Jacob’s bedroom to play with the cars. Adam loves to sit in the rocking chair. He took a 3 hr nap this afternoon. Jacob still likes to fold things up in a blanket and say, "I got you a present". Today, he put a bunch of blocks in his baseball cap and brought it over to me. As he handed it to me he said, "I got you a present, Happy Mothers Day, I got you lot of groceries". He gets so excited to see me open it up. I gave him a hug and I told him thank-you. He replied, "yer welcome". I got some sponges and cleaning water to scrub the walls, baseboards, and floor in our kitchen. I gave Jacob a little sponge to use so he could help me. He would us it like a paintbrush on the wall and say, “I’m painting the wall”. Jacob used the sponge for a short time but then he’d thought it was more fun to slide around on the wet floor in his socks. Lately, if I ask him a question that he doesn’t know the answer to, he holds his hands up, shrugs his shoulders and says, “I don know” with a grin on his face. He also likes to joke with me and hold up something like a dog and say, “I taunt dat were a cat”. The butterflies came out of their cocoons today and Jacob was really excited about that. He looked at them and said, “dem are my babies, I love dem”. He was even more excited to show Daddy them when he came home from work. We all went outside until dinner was ready. Daddy did some things on the car, like taking off a belt and a valve. Jacob loves to sit in the back seat of the Geo. And he likes Adam to come in there with him. The boys played in the sand. Jacob ran over to me saying, “I found a hopgrasser (grasshopper) in my sand”. After showing it to me, he ran to show Daddy. We had roasted chicken, carrots, and potatoes for dinner. After dinner I gave the boys a bath and got them in their pj’s. Shortly before 8pm we headed into town to pick up a prescription from Walgreen’s and some parts for the car from the auto store. We first stopped to get the mail which Jacob kept asking to do. When Daddy came back with the mail Jacob said, "I want my mail". He got all the junk mail. Jacob fell asleep on the drive to town. We got home around 9pm. Jacob stayed asleep as I lay him in bed. When Adam got inside he ran to see the dogs. He kept standing by Truman’s tail and would laugh as it hit his face. When Truman would move Adam would hurry to stand by his tail again. Then he went to check out the new fish in the tank. He didn’t even want to read his whole bedtime book before getting down to go look at the fish.

Wow...I saw a little bit of Geo. So good to hear butterfly news. You can keep them a few days with sugar water. How many did you get? More words are coming.
Jacob next time your working on the car with daddy ask him where the doo hicky is
I posted pictures of the Geo back when we got it about a month ago. I'll get some better pictures on here for ya.
OK, Kimmy and Jared, based on what Jacob is doing, you can start having some fun by saying things like: "I am walking all over the house on the ceiling." "I am cooking supper on the refrigerator." ("NO, Mama, you are cooking on the STOVE!") "I think I will turn on the radio to watch 'I Love Lucy.'" ("NO, Mama, that's not a radio, that's a TV!!") This is classic 3-year-old playing with opposites -- he will do more of it on his own and it can be a fun time for the whole family! (Adam may be a little bewildered -- but, he may think it's fun to laugh when others are laughing, even if he doesn't get the joke.)
I like Jacob's tow truck. Max did something like that the other day too. He put a rake on the back of his dump truck and pulled it around saying it was his tow truck. It's funny how they come up with those things all on their own. Oh, and I love how Jacob says grasshopper. It reminds me of how Kenzie used to say "hooperbasket" for basketball.
Lela, I forgot to mention that there are 4 butterflies.
Uncle Dee, thanks for the tips. That's great fun all around.
