Boys woke up around 8am. After breakfast they played with the tickle me Elmo chair. Jacob asked to hold Adam on his lap while sitting in the chair. Adam didn’t want to sit there for too long though. He like sitting on his lap as long as he wasn’t holding him tight. Jacob and Adam put some blocks in a gift bag. Then Jacob set the bag on the Elmo chair and said, “here Mommy n Happy Mothers Day, I got you present”. He was so excited as I opened it. I followed Adam into the bathroom and by the time I got in there he was on the stool and reaching for his toothbrush saying, “tee, tee, tee”. We watched Sesame Street and had snack time. At 11am we went outside until lunch. We played in the sand. I opened up the door to the chicken coop but none of them wanted to come out. Jacob and I caught many chickens and took them outside. We'd put one outside and it would run back in the coop. Adam watched us. He pet and hugged some chickens and also tried to say chicken several times. Jacob is so good with the chickens. He is very careful when he catches them and walks so calmly around them. We got about 10 chickens to stay out and they enjoyed eating the grass. I though once we got some to stay out the rest would come out - they didn't. When Daddy came home from work the boys were so excited and ran to give him hugs. Jacob asked him if they could move the “raccoons” over to the butterfly cage. He is very excited to watch them turn into butterflies. This evening we headed over to Bruce’s work. We were going to pick up some break parks for the Geo but the Auto store won't have them in until tomorrow. Jacob was looking forward to visiting Uncle Bruce. When we got there he asked him if they could look at “dem giant trucks”. He loved looking at them but wasn’t sure he wanted to get inside one. He did go up inside one with Daddy and had a big smile on his face while sitting up there. Then Bruce gave us an outside tour of the place. Jacob liked riding in the yellow truck. We got to see a lot of “ewe water”. Jacob fell asleep in the van on the drive home. I went into meijer for a few things. Jacob had a hard time waking up once we were home. Lately when I’m reading to Adam and he sees an animal on the page, he lays his head on the book to give it a hug. Jacob loves his Lightning McQueen book set and enjoys picking out books for us to read together.

In a few years when you come to visit again, Jacob will be all primed to look at the raccoons on the plants in the various butterfly gardens around the monastery. Our abbot is a great butterfly (and dragonfly) observer, so we have loads and loads of plants attractive to butterflies -- and to the raccoons that turn into butterflies. (We see lots of caterpillars, too.)
