It was a rainy, windy morning. The breeze felt really nice coming through the bedroom window. Jacob woke up at almost 9am. He cuddled with me in the chair and then got down to ride his dump truck. After he took a bite of cheerios he said, “I take a bite of cheerios, I tay umm, you wanna see?” then he took another bite and said, "umm". This morning Jacob would do thing like clap/brush his hands together and then he’d say to me, “tay, dats bantastic”. Adam woke up soon after Jacob. I vacuumed the house and got the cooler ready to be packed in the van. We meet Mom, Grandpa, and Kenzie at the rail trail parking lot in a nearby town. On the drive there I pulled up to a stop sign and Jacob said, "Simon says look and go". We packed their things in our van and Mom drove it to the park a couple miles away. This is a park that we used to visit when we were younger. We set up the picnic table under the shade by the beach. Kenzie was so excited to go swimming. Jacob ran right in with her. Adam played by the beach in the wet sand. He loved to lie on his belly and push his hands forward into the sand. He’d bring me handfuls of sand. Adam also liked playing with the seaweed. Jacob had fun playing on Kenzie’s water board. He lay on his belly in the water and say, “look-it me Mommy, I being a teal (seal)”. It wasn’t long before Adam found his way into the water. He loved when I’d splash his bellyor back. Mom and I were laughing at him because he’d bend over on his hands and feet and then stick his face in the water. He did this over and over and had such a cute expression on his wet face when he’d stand up. Shortly after noon we gathered at the picnic table for a lunch. We had turkey sandwiches, chips, brownies, and lemonade. The kids loved the brownies. Jacob somehow fell and knocked his chair over. There was a cup full of lemonade and the whole thing went right in his face. Nana dumped some water on his face. He cried some but as soon as he had a clean shirt on he was ok. After lunch we hiked over to the water park. Kenzie had fun there. She loved the big buckets that would fill up and dump on whatever was under them. Jacob ran through it once and liked it but after that he was done. Adam liked looking at the flowers on the way over, but did not enjoy the sprinklers. Grandpa took a short nap in the chair. Nana got Jacob a snow cone and he shared it with Adam. We walked back to our table and then took the boys out to play on the beach. Jacob wanted to play with a little girl who was pouring buckets of water in the sand stream. He ran to get his bucket but when he came back she had left. He looked at me and said, “where’d that girl go?” Shortly before 3pm we packed up the van. Mom drove the van back to her car but soon after she pulled forward out of her parking lot we heard a loud noise. We got out of the car to find she had drove into a cement post and it was bent over with our back tire. The post was about an inch away from hitting the side of the van. There are a few little scratches at the bottom of the van but they can be rubbed out. We all laughed about it and were thankful there wasn’t significant damage. I think Jared will be picking on her for a long time about this one. In the van Jacob said to me, "look Mommy, Kennie (Kenzie) is my best friend". On our way home we stopped at McDonalds for an ice cream cone but both boys had fallen asleep. Adam went back to sleep when I lay him in his crib and Jacob slept on the couch. Jared took down the fence around the chicken coop. I took a nap on the other couch. By the time we woke up it was dinnertime. After dinner we went out on the back deck. Then we went to the front of the house to watch Daddy up on the roof cleaning out the gutters. Jacob said, “no me wanna go up dere, dat would be cary (scary)”. After he was done with that we took the boys over to play on the swing/slide/fort. They each went down the curly slide with Daddy. They had fun driving with their steering wheels. Daddy and Jacob pretended they were driving a boat. I pushed Adam in the swing. Daddy and Jacob took a log and threw it from up in the fort to down in the sand hole. It would make a big splash in the water from all the rain we've gotten. They did this several times. It was sprinkling outside but it felt really good. It started to rain harder so Daddy and Jacob sat at the top of the curly slide. Jacob wanted us to come up and look at him and he giggled with excitement as we came up there to “find him”. It was around 9pm when we came inside. Adam and I were pretty wet. After they were in their pj's we sat down to read with them.

Adam is just too much in that hat! Such a cute kid!
So is Jacob -- but these pictures are beginning to show the personality of Adam more and more, so I am really struck by him.
Great pictures! Looks like fun!
The camera was really rolling. Face in the water. What is he thinking. Guess it felt good. It's soon time for swimming lessons for Jacob. I spent all day in the garden and found 7 catepillers. The fennel must be yum, yum. We think they are all swallowtails. Buy Fennel or plant the seed.
What a nice family Jared has. No one mentioned the cement post. What happened to Jared? I kind of dred tomorrow and the comments it most likely will bring, but I am always happy to spend time with my wonderful family.
Such a fun-filled day wasn't it. I loved almost every minute of it.
Of course you know what minute I would skip. The boys were so cute to watch. So was Kenzie. I loved how Jacob just ran in the water and Adam stuck his face in so many times. I just know he's going to be on the dive team. Nice to see Kenzie have so much fun too. Great sandwiches, Kimmy. Love Mom
