This morning we got up to take Jared to work. We dropped him off shortly after 7am. Then we headed over to what Jacob calls the “wood park”. It was a cool morning (high 50’s). We had a little breakfast at the picnic table and enjoyed watching the seagulls and squirrels. Jacob tried to get them to eat some of his cheerios. Then we played on the train and the ambulance. Jacob wanted us to be “sick people” that he could drive to the hospital. Then Adam drove while Jacob got out his toolbox and went around fixing the vehicle. I brought some bubbles and blew them for the boys. I loved watching them chase them bubbles and squeal with excitement. I pushed Adam in the swing and Jacob went down the slide. We played on the boat and the “raceship”. We had lots of fun. Shortly after 9am we headed over to the auto shop to pick up a car part for the Metro. The part wasn’t going to be in until tomorrow now. We headed over to Mom’s house. Mom, the boys and I drove to a strawberry farm in town but it was closed. We headed to another farm close to my parents house. Mom and I each picked a container full of berries. Jacob played with his tractors and would bring me an occasional berry he had picked for me. The first on he brought me was half eaten by a bird. Adam sat in the stroller with a snack and a truck to play with. He was very content and never complained once. Jacob was also very good. He told me he was looking for snakes and frogs in the little ditch. We got back to Mom’s around lunchtime. Adam enjoyed his first taste of strawberries. After lunch Mom went to Grandpa’s house. Jacob begged to play “hockey” with Kenzie’s toy golf set. Both boys took a long nap this afternoon. While they slept I took the green caps off the strawberries. When Mom came home we made several batches of strawberry jelly. We had fun doing this together. We left around 4:15 to pick Jared up from work. Had to make a couple quick stops on the way home. We had spaghetti for dinner which both boys loved. I mashed alot of strawberries this evening. After the boys were in bed Jared and I halled some stawberry containers out to the freezer.

kimmy there is also something called strawberry short cakes too. Just sliced up strawberries..make sure you sugar them and then make some bisquick shortcakes to go with them..perfect dinner when its hot out..ask jared we had them a lot when we were little..oh wait jared is still little :-)
Strawberry shortcake. Yum, yum. The only thing the three big boys never learned to do was pour milk over the whole thing and find out how good that was. Never worked. The little boy pictures certainly show how much fun they have on playground equipment. Goodness, It must be only 8 o'clock in the morning. Most of the rest of the world is still asleep missing out on all the fun that is to be early in the morning. I think that Michigan people love to watch parades, play on playground equipment, pick strawberries (and blueberries) play in the sand, swimming in the lake is because the winters are so harsh and the summers are just wonderful times to be outside. Well, I remember the ice festival we saw. That even got loads of people to attend outside. Today's pictures are really super, best ever facial expressions. Thanks a bunch Kimmy.
Kimmy dont believe mom Milk RUNINS the strawberry short cake!
I love the picture where Adam is peeking through the top of the train and the boys are both reaching their arms out for each other.
Eric, you also say that ice cream ruins apple pie. I've never tried milk on my strawberry shortcake, you could be wrong about that one too:)
Because ice cream DOES ruin apple pie.
