It was a fun drive to the zoo. Grandma and Grandpa drove with us. I sat in the back seat with Kenzie and Jacob. Kenzie loved taking pictures of the tall buildings throught the wet window. When we got to the zoo it was raining pretty hard. We got out the umbrellas and headed to the butterfly building. I had never seen butterflies coming out of their cocoons before. It was really neat. We then took a walk over to the Oceans building. All the kids really loved this. We enjoyed looking at the fish and the seahorses. Then we walked over to see the penguins. Jacob touched a penguin egg. My favorite was when we got to pet the sharks. That was very cool. Jacob liked looking at them but didn't want to touch them. Adam got to splash in the water but one didn't come up close enough to the surface for him to touch. We walked through the Deserts building and saw the turtles, lizards and meerkats. Adam liked walking around in there. A lady told him hi and he got shy and quickly headed towards me and fell over. Many times, when someone new tells him hi, he'll hide his head in my legs with a grin. We took a walk to look at many different snakes. Jacob wanted Daddy to read him what kind of snake they were and then he would walk to the next one. We waited around shortly for the dolphin show which started at 12:30. While we waited they kids played on the playground. Now it was lightly sprinkling out. None of them went down the slides:) It rained harder as we walked over to the dolphin building. When we sat in the bleachers Adam got fussy on my lap because he wanted down. Once the show started he enjoyed it but got fussy towards the end. I walked with him down closer to the tank and stood there until the show was finished. Jacob complained that he was hungry. The rain stopped and it was nice outside. We headed to the van where we ate our lunch. Saw the seals and sea lions. Walked over and saw the Koala's. One was eating in the tree and the other one was sleeping. The giraffes were eating from the trees and we saw a couple young ones. We had to walk across a movable bridge which Jacob didn't really like to see the Rhino's. All three Rhino's were sleeping in the mud. Jacob said, "no me wanna leep in mud, I get all dirty". Adam really enjoyed seeing all the animals. I was amazed at how he noticed them all and was very interested in watching them. Jacob liked walking around pretending he was holding a steering wheel and driving. We got to learn some things about elephants and pet them. Kenzie and Adam liked petting the elephant but Jacob only wanted to look. The kids, Jared, Grandma, and I took a train ride. We sat in the back of the train and were the only group on the ride. Jacob and Kenzie sat in the very back. Adam sat with Mommy and Daddy and Grandma rode in front of us. Jacob really loved the ride. Adam also loved it but wanted to be held tight. He had a little bounce to the music. Shortly after the train ride Adam fell asleep. We walked throught the gift shop. Kenzie got a sucker. Kenzie really wanted to go back and see the butterflies and go throught the gift shop in that building. We went over their and she bought herself a couple things. She also bought Jacob a sucker. We walked in the room with the butterflies and then went outside and walked throught the beautiful garden. Adam woke up as I took him down the steps into the garden. It was a great day at the zoo. We left shortly after 4pm. We stopped at Eric and Kat's house to see their fish aquarium. They came back to Jared's parents house and we all had dinner together outside. Then we had some yummy pie and ice cream. We took Kenzie to Build-a-Bear. Eric, Kat, and Andrew also came along. Kenzie had a hard time deciding on an animal. She picked out a bunny and named it Sarah. Then she picked out an outfit and some sunglasses for her bunny. We walked through some of the mall. The boys and Kenzie played on the rides. Jacob was driving a bus and another boy came in with him. The boys Mom went to put the quarters in and Jacob jumped out quickly and got in another vehicle. Jacob and Adam were very tired and Kenzie was begging to leave so she could dress her bunny in the car. We decided to walk through Childrens Place and then leave. Jacob picked up a cute little girls skirt, showed it to Daddy, and said, "dats cute". After we left we decided to make a quick trip into BabiesRUs. Got home around 9:30 and all three kids were asleep. They barely woke as I dressed them in their pj's and we tucked them in bed.
