This morning Adam ran down the hallway after Daddy saying, “da (up or down), da” as he raised his arms to him. Daddy carried him out to the kitchen and gave him hugs goodbye. Adam reached for the fridge and said, “dee (drink), dee”. We watched as Daddy drove out the driveway and then he walked over to look at the fish. I lay him back in his crib and he quickly talked himself back to sleep. While the boys were asleep I got caught up with my writing in both their baby books. Jacob came down the hallway around 8:45 and wanted to cuddle. Then we went outside to let the chickens out of their coop. We knelt down to watch them as they ate grass around us. Adam was awake when we came in for breakfast. Jacob loves to wash his hands with the fish or bird bar of soap in the bathroom and always asked to do it after brushing his teeth. This morning Jacob rode on his ambulance(the dump truck) with his stuffed sheep in the bottom of it. He’d hand me the sheep and tell me, “him got hurt, on him ear (or foot, belly, mouth)”. He loved handing me things as we “doctored” the sheep. Then he’d put him back in the “ambulance” and drive back to the kitchen. We played this for a while and then we played “mechanics”. He’d drive the truck over to me, pop the hood, and have me look at the engine. He want me to add oil, or would have me fix the tires. Adam would come over and give me hugs. He leaned over too far in the toy box and got stuck over the side. Adam climbed on the toy box lid and Jacob pushed him around in the “boat”. Jacob sat at the counter and colored with markers and then we got out the paints. Adam colored with the crayons. After lunch Jacob wanted to play “doctor” again. It was a warm day outside (high 80’s). We put the AC on for the first time this summer. Adam took another 3hr nap this afternoon, waking up around 5pm. After dinner we went outside. I packed some things in the car while the boys played in the sand. Then we sat under the shade of the apple tree. I took the boys inside and Jared stayed out to mow the grass. I packed the boys bags for our camping trip this weekend. After they were in their pj’s, Jacob led a train down to the bathroom to brush teeth. Adam was in the middle of our train and said, “choo choo” with us as we walked down the hallway. Before going to bed Jacob wanted me to take him outside so he could get a ride on the tractor. We'll be coming back from our camping trip on Monday.

Jacob's tow truck.

Jacob came in our bedroom around 8:30. He lay there next to me playing with his cars until around 9am. He wanted me to play with his bus and pick the kids up for school. After breakfast Jacob made a couple seat inside the toy box out of soft books. He pretended to drive his truck and said the other seat was for Adam. Adam slept in until 10am. After the boys were done brushing their teeth this morning Adam said, “dal-daa (all done)”. We went outside to let the chickens out of their coop. I used some rope and s-hooks to hang their water containers. Jacob likes holding things for me and handing them to me when I needed them. Adam enjoyed watching the chickens. He likes to bend over and try to hug them. Jacob got some chicken poop on the top of his foot and on his flip flop so we went to the hose to spray off his foot and shoe. We went inside for lunch. Adam likes to walk over to me or the dogs and say, “I (hi)”. We went into Jacob’s bedroom to play with the cars. Adam loves to sit in the rocking chair. He took a 3 hr nap this afternoon. Jacob still likes to fold things up in a blanket and say, "I got you a present". Today, he put a bunch of blocks in his baseball cap and brought it over to me. As he handed it to me he said, "I got you a present, Happy Mothers Day, I got you lot of groceries". He gets so excited to see me open it up. I gave him a hug and I told him thank-you. He replied, "yer welcome". I got some sponges and cleaning water to scrub the walls, baseboards, and floor in our kitchen. I gave Jacob a little sponge to use so he could help me. He would us it like a paintbrush on the wall and say, “I’m painting the wall”. Jacob used the sponge for a short time but then he’d thought it was more fun to slide around on the wet floor in his socks. Lately, if I ask him a question that he doesn’t know the answer to, he holds his hands up, shrugs his shoulders and says, “I don know” with a grin on his face. He also likes to joke with me and hold up something like a dog and say, “I taunt dat were a cat”. The butterflies came out of their cocoons today and Jacob was really excited about that. He looked at them and said, “dem are my babies, I love dem”. He was even more excited to show Daddy them when he came home from work. We all went outside until dinner was ready. Daddy did some things on the car, like taking off a belt and a valve. Jacob loves to sit in the back seat of the Geo. And he likes Adam to come in there with him. The boys played in the sand. Jacob ran over to me saying, “I found a hopgrasser (grasshopper) in my sand”. After showing it to me, he ran to show Daddy. We had roasted chicken, carrots, and potatoes for dinner. After dinner I gave the boys a bath and got them in their pj’s. Shortly before 8pm we headed into town to pick up a prescription from Walgreen’s and some parts for the car from the auto store. We first stopped to get the mail which Jacob kept asking to do. When Daddy came back with the mail Jacob said, "I want my mail". He got all the junk mail. Jacob fell asleep on the drive to town. We got home around 9pm. Jacob stayed asleep as I lay him in bed. When Adam got inside he ran to see the dogs. He kept standing by Truman’s tail and would laugh as it hit his face. When Truman would move Adam would hurry to stand by his tail again. Then he went to check out the new fish in the tank. He didn’t even want to read his whole bedtime book before getting down to go look at the fish.

They love looking outside.

Mommy, there's some toys down there.

Jacob walked around with these blocks under his feet and said, "dese my lippers". I grabbed my camera to take this picture. Then he said, "You wanna try dese, I gotta git my camera, dat will be funny" and he ran to get his camera. After he took my picture he wanted me to take a picture of him on them with his camera.
He used the spoon for most of it but just couldn't get that last little bit.
Trying it on for a laugh.

Driving his dump truck.

The goats heading home but not without stopping at Gene's house.

After breakfast this morning the boys had lots of fun playing with their balloons. Its amazing these balloons have held up for over a month. We went outside this morning and went for a walk down our road. Our cats, Jo and Tiger, followed us the entire trip. When we got back the boys played in the sand. We went back inside at lunchtime. The boys ate spagettios for lunch. Jacob pointed at Adam and said, "uh oh, look at Adam". Adam had the bowl up to his face and was trying to eat right from the bowl. I laughed and grabbed the camera. Then he put the bowl on top of his head. Around 1pm I got the dusting done around the house. Then started vacuuming. While I was vacuuming our neighbor came and knocked on the door. He told me our goats were loose and in Gene's yard (the neighbor right next to us, same side of the road). I changed Adam and lay him down for his nap. Jacob and I walked out to the goats paddock with a scoop full of corn. I shook it hoping that they hear it and come - no such luck. Jacob grabbed a handful of hay and we walked out to the road. There they were, all five goats and one sheep, heading in our direction. Then, they turned around and headed in the opposite direction. They ran into the woods of the neighbors across from Gene's house. After a little while, they came out of the woods and ran down our road until I couldn't see them anymore. I hurried to lock the car seats in the car and then woke up Adam so we could take a trip down the road. Our road ends at a driveway. We were at the driveway and still didn't see them. I drove to the end of a circle driveway and noticed all of them behind one of the two houses on this property. I knocked at the door of one house but got no answer. I left the boys in the car with the AC on while I tried to bribe the goats to run in the direction of our house. There was a large bull mastiff dog barking loudly and none of them wanted to go by him as he pulled on his chain. I was able to catch Lockjaw by her horns and dragged her past the dog hopping the others would follow, they didn't. A kind, elderly lady came to the window and said, "can I ask what your doing?" I explained to her my situation as I took a brake from dragging the stubborn goat. She told me her dog was very friendly but had never seen goats before. I put some corn in the driveway and let Lockjaw go. I hoped she would stay there while I got another goat, but she didn't. She ran back to the group behind the house. As I walked back they decided to run over towards the pond. They circled back to behind the house again. I was able to catch Lucy (the black and white goat). I dragged her down the driveway and the others cautiously followed. They still would not go past the dogs and stopped in the middle of the circle driveway. In the middle of the driveway was a picnic table and a beautiful section of flowers. They started to eat the flowers. The lady was on her porch watching. I was able to walk past them without them running back behind the house. I got Jacob out to help me chase them towards our house. We chased them to the end of the driveway and then ran back to the car. They ran towards our house and we followed behind them in the car. Maude decided to turn and go into Gene's property and the goats followed her. Gene stood there and watched from his front door but he didn't say anything. I grabbed hold of Lucy and was able to drag her back to the road with the others following. Nick's dad, who had told me they were loose, came out to see if I needed any help. Once I got them past Gene's property, he kept them going while I went back for the car. Once they were in our yard I told Nick's dad (I don't know his name) we should be all set and thanked him for his help. I drove the car up to the barn. Then I found the goats in the paddock next to the outdoor arena. I was able to coax Lucy, Clarence, and Lockjaw into their paddock with a scoop of grain. Maude, Ethel, and Fred were not so easy. I went inside to get Kate to help me but they wouldn't even move for her. I caught Ethel but she is the only goat without horns and I wasn't about to carry her. They were all very tired and panting. Fred was not so easy to catch. I finally caught him and dragged him back to his paddock. When I say drag, they literally will push their hooves into the ground resisting your pull. I swear their like stubborn little mules. I have blisters on my hands from all the goat dragging. Anyway, to make a long story short or a long story a little bit longer, I got all the goat in. The sheep didn't go back in until Jared came home from work. When I got back inside it was around 3:15. I layed Adam back down to finish his nap and he fell asleep right away. Then I called Jared to let him know the goats were back in their paddock. Jacob watched his dump truck video. I read some of my journels in "our story" book from 5 years ago when Jared and I were "just friends" up to our wedding. Jared came home and told me that he had gotten gas in the Geo and it had gotten 47.1 mpg. This is even after all my crazy driving in it yesterday. Adam woke up soon after Daddy got home. I finished vaccumming the house. This eveing we went out to dinner at fazoli's. I drove the Geo to get some more practice with the stick shift. After dinner we went to the mall. As the boys walked through the mall Jacob pushed the stroller. Adam wanted to stop and look at things like the truck and car, the clown sign at the shoe store, and the candy machines. He also wanted to stop at the benches and begged for help up. We took them to play at the train table in Barnes and Noble. I drove the car home and we got back around 9pm. Jacob had fallen asleep and stayed asleep as I carried him to bed. Adam played outside for a short while before we took him in to get ready for bed.

We were up by 9am. The morning seemed to go by fast. Worked on a little laundry and played with the boys. Adam reached for his blanket, which I was holding, and said, “bank-bie”. We left for meijer around 1pm. Had to backtrack on the drive there because the road to meijer was closed. As we left meijer Adam sat on the pony for a penny ride. Jacob always likes to put the penny in. Adam finished Jacob’s ride because Jacob wanted off right away. Before getting off, Adam gave the horse a hug. We got home around 3pm. Adam was still napping when Daddy came home from work. Jacob and I were outside letting the chickens out of the coop. The boys played in the back seat of the Geo while Jared and I waxed it. Adam came out, grabbed a rag, and wiped the car with it. Jacob decided that looked like fun and also came out. The cats had tore open a garbage bag in the barn. Adam found an old juice box and took a drink. He had an awful expression on his face after he had taken a drink. After dinner we took a drive in the Geo. I wanted Jared to teach me how to drive a stick shift. I drove to the school’s playground and practice in their parking lot. Then we got out to play with the kids on the playground. Got home at 9pm. The boys had fun playing with their balloons before getting ready for bed. Adam reaches for the balloon saying, “baa, baa”.

When I laughed at Jacob he said, "Dat funny? You wanna take my picture?"
Here are several more poses Jacob wanted me to take pictures of.

At church today Daddy took the boys back to their rooms. Adam cried as he left. Jacob went in as usual. During the service someone brought Jacob back to us because he was crying and he had never done this at our church before. He sat with us for the rest of the service. Adam was happily playing when we picked him up. He ran to me as soon as he saw us. Soon after lunch I lay Adam in his crib for an early nap. We had a graduation party to got to this evening. We woke him up at 2:30 and headed over to the mall to pick up the gift we had ordered. Kevin, the junior groomsmen in our wedding, has graduated. We got to the party around 4pm. Jacob had fallen asleep on the drive there. The party was a lot of fun. We stayed until 8pm.
