Jacob came down to our bedroom this morning rubbing his butt and saying, "me butt hurt, me pell out of me bed". Then he said, "pray por it Mommy". He wanted to watch his tractor video instead of Clifford this morning saying, "no watch Clifford, I wanna watch tractor movie". After breakfast Jacob asked to write on some paper so I gave him a pen and paper. Then he asked for his scissors and glue. He really likes to do zigzags on the paper and really takes his time with them. He'll cover them up with his hand and say, "Mommy, ewe wanna see, dat tez me name". He also likes me to draw dots for him to connect and make shapes. Jacob sat at the counter with his aquadoodle and Adam crawled around playing with different toys while I folded and put away laundry. This evening Jacob was excited to get a package from Grandma. He opened up the package to find Cars underware and Cars pj pants. He was very excited and said, "Light queen and Mater too". He likes how soft the pj pants feel. Kept saying, "I peel dat, dat too". After dinner I went to town to pick up my prescription from the pharmacy. Jacob didn't get a nap to day so he was very tired and went to bed early. He was happy to get to wear his new pj's and wanted to wear the Mater underware over his pull-up. Adam cuddled on my lap and we read his favorite book (Baby words) several times. When I lay him in his crib he was full of smiles so I had to go grab my camera.

It's got to be genetic on the father's side of the family. I think with their hands anchored behind their heads they don't fly all around the place waking themselves up. What else could it be. Adam really has a little kisser that just isn't going away very quickly. Can't blame this one on his brother. Jacob is to gentle for that.

Is that mark on Adam's face when he fell on the steps? Looks like Daddy needs to back to safty school and do some improvements on those steps.

Adam's smile is really something to behold!

Eric, that mark is from when he fell on the step in the bathroom. I don't think its the step that needs improving - its Adam's balance that could use some work or maybe the smooth flooring:)

Uncle Dee, thanks for the suggestion to singing the alphabet song to the tune of "Mary Had a Little Lamb". Took me a few tries to get it without messing it up, but I really like it and so does Jacob.

Hailey, Max, and Kenzie do not sleep with their hands behind their head - must be a Russell thing. Jacob is very gentle for his age. He has pushed Adam away from the toys he's playing with but usually he'll call me in a soft voice saying, "help please Mommy, get Adam" and he will run to find him something to play with. Adam sure does adores his brother and wants to be near him but I don't blame Jacob for not wanting Adam to chew on and mess up the cars he had just neatly lined up. Anyway, anyone who reads this long comment have a wonderful rest of the day!

I forgot to mention something about the first picture. I clicked on the picture to make it bigger and that's when the full educational value of the picture came through. What a face. I love it's all scrunched up features that transmit a wonderful message. Happy to know that he continues to like his cars. I love sending things that he can really get excited about. I have yet to see the movie. That is something to look forward to when we make a Michigan visit.

I love Jacob's smile in that first picture too. He sure does get excited about anything to do with Cars. You can just see how excited he is with that huge smile.
