I did some sewing until the kids woke up. Jacob woke up at 7:30 and layed on the couch for a little bit. He wanted to watch Curious George but it wasn't on until 8am. Adam woke up around 9. While I was nursing Adam I noticed Jacob had something on his nose. I had him go wipe his nose and just as he was doing so he sneezed really hard. Out came a large piece of Kleenex that he must have shoved up his nose last night when he tore it apart in bed. Last night I told Jared I suspected he may have done that but I looked and didn't see anything. Jacob did alot of coloring and cutting with his scissors this morning. He gave me a pictures saying, "here Mommy, I made dis". He helped me hang it on the refrigerator. Now that Adam can crawl he likes to follow Jacob. Jacob looked at Adam smiling and said, "Adam loves me". Jacob helped me make Mac-n-cheese for lunch. He likes to pour in the milk and cheese. Jacob is working on pedaling his tricycle. He'll push down on the pedal, then back pedal, and push down again. He gets excited and says, "look Mama, I ped-ling". He got his firetruck bag and said he was going to work and it was his lunch. He brought the bag over, opened it and handed me, Adam, and the dogs all some pizza, choc milk and then scooped us some ice cream with choc syrup on it. He loves when I pretend the pizza is to hot. He'll take it, stick it in a pretend freezer and be a timer counting to fifteen and then saying "beeeeep". Today I was pretending to be the tickle monster and tickling the boys. Then Jacob came over to me and said, "I am tickle monster, run away Mommy". Lately Jacob has liked Daddy reading him his bedtime stories. They will lay down on the couch and Jared will say, "I get the big pillow and Jacob gets the little pillow". Of course Jacob always ends up with the big pillow. Jacob's favorite book the last couple days has been Fox in Socks by Dr Seuss. I'll nurse Adam while their reading on the couch and and then I read him a couple books before tucking him in bed.

At least it was only Kleenex. Kat has a friend who's daughter shoved brocholli up her nose a few times then it was a tic tac I guess those burn pretty bad..so maybe that wont happen again. So it could have been worse.

How is Jared's performance of "Green Eggs and Ham"? I had that one worked up into Oscar-worthy material when I was reading regularly to pre-schoolers. I would build such irritation and frustration until that wonderful moment when he actually TRIES the stuff -- then I would hold the book with only the picture showing in absolute silence -- waiting, waiting -- then, softly and with great wonder and amazement: "Say, I like them, Sam-I-am!" (Or whatever the actual line is.) Start working on it, Jared. This could be an opportunity to out-perform the old lady in the drive-up bank.

You should hear my academy acclaimed "Fox in Socks" performace. That story also has an irritated character... "I can not say such blither balther, my tongue's not made of rubber!!"

My "Green Eggs and Ham" could use some work, I'll incorporate your suggestions and work on my irritation for both this and "Fox in Socks".

Cute pictures of Jacob talking to Adam in the crib. Adam sure looks happy and excited to see him.

It hit me later -- I think the lines after the taste are something like "I do . . . I do ... I do like them, Sam-I-am". Anyway the first "I do" is very soft with a kind of doubt in the voice; then the second "I do" is with stronger amazement that they are in fact good; and finally a great confident affirmation; "I do so like green eggs and ham." I think the key is to build to such a crescendo of irritation at the nagging Sam-I-am that the long silence for the actual tasting is filled with great suspense -- and then the wonderful discovery that new things really can be good!

Maybe we can get Kimmy to record some of your performances for the blog.

Kimmy, thanks for the bibs. They are so pretty. Hailey was excited to put one on at dinnertime. I love the wallet too. It's so cute.
