Last night it was sleeting outside so the country roads were icy on Jared's trip to work this morning. I went back to sleep around 8am and then woke up at 9:30 with Adam. Jacob slept in again until almost 10 - just in time for Sesame Street. After he was done with his breakfast and Sesame Street was over he asked if he could play at the counter with his barn. While he played there I read a book to Adam. He only could sit for the one book then he wanted down to play. Jacob was brushing his blanket over the floor and said, "I clean up poop Mama". Jacob wanted to pretend he was a lion and the couch was a cage. He wanted me to put him in the cage and lock the door. Then it was my turn to be the lion and he locked me in - I'd get loose and chase him down the hallway. His favorite Bible stories right now are Daniel in the lions den and Noah's ark. He also likes me to catch him and give him a big hug pretending to locked my arms around him. Then he turns the key to unlocks each arm and tries to run away before I catch him again. I got out his coloring books and we colored together. Jacob likes to draw zigzags on the page and then point at it saying, "dat me name" or "dat Mama's name". He enjoys when I show him how to write his and our names. Adam has started getting in the hands and feet position with his butt high up. He really likes with I roll the ball to him and usually with push it right back. Tonight we went out for dinner at Bob Evan's with the gift card my Grandpa gave us for Christmas. Jacob liked his grilled cheese and smiley face fries. The food was good and we had a nice time out together. Then we walked around the mall. Stopped to let the boys play in their play area. They had fun. Jacob ran around and climbed on all the stuff. Adam hung out with us by the large grapes and pounded on them like a drum. Then we walked around Sears and Target. At Sears they had pillows buy on get one free so Jacob and I got new pillows. When we got home Jacob was really excited about his new pillow. We put a pillowcase on it and put in on his bed. He patted it and said, "I bring dis out dere" pointing out the door.

I love how Adam is sleeping there. How cute. I'm glad Jacob is enjoying his Bible. Daniel and the lions den is one of Max's favorite Bible stories right now too.

Wow! Writing is beginning! This is great! He knows about writing -- that those marks mean something!! Watch out, Kimmy! He is going to start figuring out more and more about reading and writing!

When you read a book to him, are you running your finger along under the print as you go? It may be a good time to start doing that so that he can begin to track the words with you. He will slowly begin to see patterns and one day will start to recognize words . . .

This is so cool! Learning to talk is such fun to watch -- but learning to read is, too!!!
