This morning I vacuumed the house before it got scattered with toys. Adam played and Jacob followed behind me saying, "I wanna help". He'd hold the cord behind me and smile. I also vacuumed the kitchen and the entrance way. Jacob wanted to play the piano and wanted me to drum on the stools. He turned the book to the alphabet song and said we were going to sing the ABC song. Then he helped me dust - he loves to spray. Adam crawled all the way down the hallway - he has gotten really fast at his crawl. He has also gotten really good at getting into the sitting position from his belly. He loves to follow Jacob everywhere. Jacob loves to make him laugh. While the boys watched Sesame street I mopped the kitchen and entrance way and did the dishes. It was really cute to see Jacob dancing to the banana song they were singing. While the boys were napping I went outside to turn Sammy loose in the barn. Sammy had tipped over his water bucket and I slipped on the ice catching myself on the door. He was very happy to be loose and trotted over to the hay. He grabbed a flake of hay in his mouth and threw it behind him. Inside I played around with the sewing machine while drinking a cup of coffee. As I started to work on laundry Adam woke up and soon after I heard Jacob calling. I put some Raffi music on and Jacob and I sang and dance to that as I folded laundry. Adam sat on the floor with a bucket of toys to go through. I took some clothes down to Jacob's room and Jacob came down with a handful of clothes saying, "here Mommy". As I put the clothes he brought me away he went to get some more. He helped me until all the clothes were put away. I made chicken noodle casserole in the crockpot for dinner. Jared picked up ice cream on his way home from work so we had that a little later in the evening. This evening Jared gave me a suprise gift. It was a sewing table that he had bought from Salvation army. He stripped it, stained it and put polyurithane on it. It is beautiful - he did a GREAT job! The sewing machine I'm using doesn't fit right so for now I have it sitting on top and I am glad to have our kitchen table back.

Great job JB...Kimmy, you found a place to put the sewing machine cabinet. JB was wondering about that. Seems we all knew about this before you. Surprises are great things. We can keep a secret. It's nice to see Adam having as much fun with the little cars as Jacob has playing with them. I'm noticing how child proof they are. Great toys. Now...how about some potholders for the next sewing project. Good thing to make with scraps of fabric. You can put layers of flannel inside to make them a little thicker. You have got to keep that sewing machine happy! That's my excuse.

THe sewing machine table is reminiscent of our mother's -- Jared's grandmother's. Beautiful work, Jared.

So, Adam is crawling quickly down the hallway, huh? Go, Adam, go. Next thing we know, he will be RUNNING quickly down the hallway!

One more thing. I think that if you get a sewing machine that is not classified as a portible sewing machine, that would allow you to lower the sewing machine into the cabinet. But don't depend entirely on what I say. Check it out.
