Yesterday morning we took donuts over to my parents house and Jared helped Dad split wood. As soon as we got there Jacob ran to find the Nativity story for Nana to read to him. As she reads to him he get to open 7 different boxes and set up the nativity. The last box is Gods special gift - the box has a mirror in the bottom of it. Jacob likes to set the boxes up in a line as they go through the story. After we had lunch it was time to leave for the 1 1/2 hr trip to my uncle's house. Vik, Rody, and Kenzie met us at Mom's. They drove with my parents, Kenzie drove with us. She brought her 20Q game and we played it the whole trip - it was fun and made time go by fast. We has a great visit with family and ate an excellent dinner. None of the kids got their naps and they were all very tired. It was very hot so I took off the boys sweaters. Dispite how tired the kids were - they all played very well together and had lots of fun. Jacob loved the matchbox cars set Max brought to play with. We played a game where everyone get a gift and we all draw numbers. Starting with one we each pick a gift from the pile or steel a gift from one already opened. You can't pick your own gift and the gift can only be stollen twice. Jared and I ended up with a couple $25 gift cards and a neat magnet snowman for on our refridgerator. Kenzie let us take her 20Q game home with us and I asked Jared questions most the way home.
Sunday: After church we came home for lunch. I made a couple apple pies with Jacob's help. He had fun helping me add the ingrediants. He had more fun playing in a pile of flour. Then headed over to my parents. Jared wanted to help Dad with the wood. The kids both took naps and I went outside to stack wood. After I got almost a whole row stacked up to my head it all fell over - what a bummer! Dad and Jared were ready to quit and go inside but I didn't want to stop until I got my mess cleaned up and there was still a large pile of wood to stack. Jared started helping me stack and Dad started the chainsaw. Mom came out to help stack and Dad and Jared finished splitting wood. Jared gave me some helpful hints on stacking wood and it went alot better this time. We got it all done. Went inside for chili. Soon after we got inside Adam woke up. Jared and Dad left to go take a look at Vik and Rody's furnace with had quit working. She called to say they had got it started again. It was getting late so I woke up Jacob and fed him dinner. We had a nice visit and then headed home. Dad left when we left to do some shopping for Mom. At home I am making a couple bathes of rolls - its almost 1am and I just got my first batch in the oven. Jared and I brought out all the presents and wrapped the stocking presents. We are so excited!!!!

Goodness me...the excitement is building in Carmel. It's almost out of control. Apple doesn't fall...you know the rest. Today...I'm getting the house ready. Tonight is church and then it's Christmas! Gifts are ready and I hope I have the correct name on the correct present. Just so much to think about. Hard to wait to see the grandsons. One of Jacob's gifts makes me smile as I am writing. It's the Jacob expressions that I am anticipating. And then the eating surprises at least for JB. I told Eric. Kimmy...you are one busy lady and you have one busy family. It would seem that every minute in the day/night is full. I'm waiting for wood pictures. Is your dad going in the wood selling business? I remember those TALL trees. See you soon.

Great pictures from the party. Cute picture of the kids looking out the window at the Christmas lights. Your snowman magnets looks really cute on your fridge. See ya tomarrow. Love, Melissa

Thank heavens there was a post today! I was getting a little desperate with no new posts since the new undershirts. It is hard to have SOME news. Kat and Jason do not post EVERY DAY -- so I am able to handle quiet stretches on their sites with greater calm than these silent stretches from the Michigan branch.

The pictures are delightful and I can tell that you are getting in the mood for Christmas. Today we set up hundreds of chairs and put out hundreds of booklets for the guests who will be arriving for our services tonight. Whew! We are finished and ready for lunch!!

I can't believe you stayed up so late making those delicious rolls.
I should have just started the batch here and you could have gotten to bed at a decent time. Much thanks to you and Jared for all the help on Christmas Eve. You are great blessings to me.
