Adam woke up around 4:30am, nursed and then slept until ~7:15 (earlier than his usual time). Most of the day he was really fussy. He loved his oatmeal this morning but he turned his head for most of his fruits and veggies for lunch and dinner. I gave him a dose of Tylenol and that seem to help some. He was happy if I rocked him and sang to him or walked around the house with him. He took a two hour nap and woke up in a better mood but was still a little fussy this evening. I did notice a second tooth on top has cut through and it looks like a couple more top teeth aren't far behind. Jacob has gotten really good at counting to ten. Sometimes I have to remind him to start with one but other times he reminds himself by saying, "start one - one, two, three, pour ..."). He likes use his fingers while he's counting and always says beep after ten. He likes to be a timer when we cool down his food in the freezer. Before his nap today he was helping me pick up his toys and he lined up his trucks in a row over where they go. When I told him what a good job he had done he came over to me and smiled, gave me a hug and said, "It makes Mama toe happy". I took pictures of how the dogs look when the boys are napping. If you ask Jacob what the solders (from the live nativity) said, he growls and says, "GET GOING". Watched Charlie Brown this evening. Adam was asleep by 8:30pm. Jacob loves to skip around the house and skips to his bedroom before bed.

What? He's SKIPPING!!!!! Are you sure he is skipping and not hopping or jumping or something? Skipping is a little shuffle-hop on one foot, then a shuffle-hop on the other foot. It requires a lot of co-ordination from left to right and is not always seen until children are much older than Jacob. Is this another indication that you have ONCE AGAIN substituted an older boy for your son?

Wow! Russell boys are once again on the go. Adam is ready to move with his up in the air head. If you can remember...bring Jacob's Thomas the Train parts with you when you come to Indiana. You'll figure it out I'm sure. I wrapped Jacob's present and I have to laugh already thinking of what he will do and say. There should be big time dancing.

Its probably more of a sideways hop rather than skipping. He is still my little boy:)
Yeah, Adam keeps trying to pull his knees forward. I'll bring Jacob's Thomas train when we come. Anything with trains I'm sure will cause some big time jumping and excitement. Should be fun!

I had to come back and read this again. You really did write "skipping." Back in the old days (when I was a child and even when I began teaching), skipping was often part of a Kindergarten curriculum because not all children could skip at that age. Maybe you have substituted a small five-year-old for Jacob. . .

Actually, if you want to know the truth, I think his ability may be connected to the kinds of opportunities you provide every day for him -- all the projects and outings and outdoor play and indoor play and just good ol' play play play -- play with his parents, his brother, by himself, his cousins, his grandparents -- nothing is better. THAT'S why he's skipping!

or sideways hopping . . .

but it's close to skipping, isn't it?

He's still your GROWING boy!

Your right - he is my GROWING boy. And I enjoy watching them grow.
