Hey, give Mommy her things back.
It was a beautiful, snowy day today. Snowed from morning til dark. Both boys liked looking out the window as it snowed. Very large flakes came down - it was about 33 degrees out. Adam seemed to be feeling better today, thought he did get pretty fussy around nap time. I lay him in his crib and I think he was asleep before I left his room. It was a great day for playing outside in the snow. Jacob was not happy to getting into his snowsuit, but didn't seem to think about it as soon as we got outside. We had so much fun. First we made a really big snowman. Jacob tried to help with some of the pushing and also kept bring handfuls of snow and packing it on. For the midsection of our snowman I had a hard time lifting it up, but managed to get it up there with a little cheering from Jacob. As I smoothed the surfaces and gave them a round shape, Jacob kept bringing handfuls of snow and packing it on, then he'd say, "I get more snow". Then we went to find sticks and rocks. We had a hard time finding rocks so for the mouth and nose we used wood chips. The dogs were excited to be outside and had lots of fun running around and eating the snow. As we were getting sticks I noticed Kate wasn't around and she wasn't coming. Jacob and I looked around for her and found her laying on our back deck. Jacob loves digging in the snow with is shovel and we dug to the grass and made a little house. He laughed really hard when I started throwing snowballs at him. He tried to throw some back at me. We found some icecycle which he thought were cool. He picked up a handful of snow and said, "I lick cold cream". As we went inside he said, "I take cold cream inside" and he brought a handful inside. We made some hot chocolate and had a Christmas cookie. Jared was jealous that we got to play in such fun snow without him. I can't wait to build a quinzy this year. The boys and I were looking out the window waiting for Jared to come home. Jacob and I were pointing things out to Adam. I pointed at the snowman and said "snowman". Jacob looked at me and said, "No no-man, Frosty". When Jared was home he said he had almost ended up in the really big ditch by our house. I was glad he was home safely. Daddy played with the boys while I went outside to feed the animals. Jacob wanted to stay inside and play with Daddy. Then Jacob and I colored while Jared went out to plowed the driveway. Adam was rolling and scooting all over this evening. He found his way over to the Christmas tree. Jacob played with his cars on Truman - it was funny because Truman just layed there for a long time. Then he decided he would roll over and play too. We watched Winnie the Pooh and Christmas too.
This is his camera - after he takes a picture he likes to turn it and show me the picture he took (it must be digital).
This is him spraying me with his hose.

Love all the snow pictures. Bruce said you guys got some huge flakes over by you. He noticed them while he was at work and couldn't believe how big they were. He said it was like it was snowing snowballs. It was raining and snowing here. Too wet to go out and play by the time I felt good enough. It did start snowing alot after dark though. Bruce did let the kids play in it a little bit before they went to bed though. I can't wait to make a snowman with them. Wish we could have seen those big flakes.
My goodness. I think I need to hope in the little red car and point it to Michigan. I would love to play in the snow. One year when teaching our second graders tried to see how many snowmen they could make in a recess period. That kind of snow doesn't happen often and we had a blast with little creatures all over the playground. You need to work on a family. Take a lesson from Michigan Tech. snow carnival. It's GREEN here. Foggy and damp. Not much fun outdoors and nothing to play with. Your pictures are beautiful. I'm ready for Christmas with lots of surprises for you all.
I remember the snow pants days...I wanted to go out...they were not to sure about what the outside was for. I'd get on their snowsuits...pull on the boots...mittens on and heads covered and then they would need to use the BATHROOM. It seemed no matter what...that would be the word. It must have happened at least 100 times. Well, maybe not. I just checked my last response...hope should be hop! Where was my head? Well, maybe hoping that I could hop in the car. I'm still ready for Christmas. Did you remember that?
I'm ready for Christmas too. I knew what you meant. I did hear the words "I got pee Mama" yesterday while we were playing in the snow and I also heard them words as we walked through the live nativity.
Mom also forgot to mention the rubber boots that go on over tennis shoes..I remember having to struggle with those things then after a few times with that we had to put old bread bags over our shoes to make it easier to get our boots on.
Cold Cream...isn't it wonderful to be playing in ice cream. Hummm I'm wondering if Jacob think's it tastes like cold cream at Copper Harbor. Cold cream covers a number of items for Jacob. Fewer words, simpler world. Eric remembers bread bags and tennis shoes and boots. He probably remembers that part but not the bathroom part. Only a mother will remember that!
