Wednesday, July 26, 2006 --COPPER HARBOR TRIP--

This morning the alarm was set for 12:30am. We are leaving for our 3rd annual vacation to Copper Harbor (Jacob's 2nd). I got Jacob dressed while he was sleeping and then Jared took him out to the car. We noticed that Truman was already in the car and neither one of us put him in. The door was open so he let himself in. Jacob woke up but was very sleepy. It wasn't long before he was fast asleep. We had to go to town for gas and to get my coffee. We were on our way north by 1:30am. The coffee kept me awake so I could talk with Jared. There was hardly any traffic on the highway. We did pass three cop cars with their lights on. They had a blazer pulled over - it was facing the wrong direction. The Mackinaw Bridge looked beautiful all lite up at night. Jacob woke up when we stopped at the gas station across the bridge (~4:30am). He stayed awake for a couple hours and I fed him breakfast on the go. We stopped at a gas station and got out to stretch. Jacob took my hand and we walked around in the grass. He kept pointing at the trucks driving by and saying, "Truck". He slept til we arrived in Lance. We stopped at the Hilltop resturant for sweat rolls. Jacob sat on Daddy's lap the whole time in the resturant and we shared our rolls with him. When we arrived in Copper Harbor Aunt Kat and Uncle Eric were in their dining fly playing a game and Grandma and Grandpa were gone to town. Jacob got dirty right away playing with rocks. We walked over to pebble beach with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Kat, and Uncle Eric. Jacob walked in the cold waters of Lake Superior. He got his feet wet up to his ankles. I tried to sit his butt in it but he didn't like that. I changed his clothes on the beach.
Around 8pm we all went out for ice cream at the Berry Patch. Jacob had fun playing on the play ice cream truck.
