This morning we walked over to the Fort to see what kinds of activities were going on with Battery D. Battery D is a civil war artilliary reinactment that Jared saw he probably 20 yrs ago. We found out they were going to be firing the cannons at 1pm. Jacob wanted to go in one of the Fort houses. I took him in the Wildflower house and he smiled big as we walked through. We took Jacob over to play at the play ground. He loved climbing on it but did not want to go down the slides. Grandma came over too. On our walk back Jacob wanted to stop at all the drinking fountains. He'd hold his mouth open and let the water go in but I think he only swallowed once. I held Jacob's hands as he followed Daddy and walked across the concrete car stops. During his morning nap Jared and I walked back over to the Fort to go through some on the buildings. Grandma stayed with Jacob. It was very interesting to read about and go through the Fort again. Jacob was still asleep when we got back. At 1:00 we went to the Fort to watch Battery D fire the cannons. Uncle Eric was there too. Things got started late but the caption came out saying we were on caption central time and we needed to adjust our watches to his time. I covered Jacobs ears the first time the cannons went off but he didn't like my hands holding his head. I left them off for the second firing and he jump so much his legs when straight out. We drove over to Dennis's and got a bowl and a mug. Back at the Fort we watched a reinactment of an amputation during the civil war. Jacob got very cranky so we to him back to camp for a nap. It was our last night going to the Barry Patch for ice cream. I got Jacob 2 spoons cause he usually wants Grandmas. Aunt Kat gave him some bites of her cone and he'd reach his hands out and beg for more. There was a big checker board on the table. Jacob played with the checker pieces. Uncle Eric took him over to the truck. After a while he wanted to go back and play with the checker pieces. He'd take some off the table and put them on the bench. Mommy, Daddy, and Grandma were hiding the pieces on him and when he'd turn around they'd be gone. He would look around wondering where they went. The look on his face had us all laughing. Jared built a fire and Grandma came over to hold Jacob. She got up and took him over to Aunt Kat and Uncle Eric's place. Grandma and Grandpa came to sit around our fire and talk but Jacob stayed with Uncle Eric. He fell asleep so Eric brought him back. I held him for a bit then lay him in bed. Jared and I made our last smores this trip.
