4th of July

This morning Jared went with my Dad and Bruce to work on taking apart a wooden play fort for Jacob. It has three levels, a curly slide, and a straight slide. Jacob slept in til 8:30am. After breakfast we went to Salvation army and then we headed over to my Mom's house. Grandma and Grandpa are coming over and we are going to watch videos from the months that she was in Arizona. By the time I got there it was lunch time. Jacob ate lunch and then lay down for a nap. We put in the first video and mom made popcorn. We looked outside and Grandpa had fallen asleep on the swing. We started with videos of Jacob at 7 months old, Max's dedication, Mom's b-day party, Kenzie's baptism, to Jacob's 1year b-day party. It was fun. I had to go to the store for a few things. By the time I got back Jacob was awake and playing on a riding car. Dad was home and resting on the couch. Jared told me all about the job they had done and what was left to do. At home we pack together a picnic dinner with turkey sandwiches, carrots, chips, and juice. We are going to meet Melissa and her family here in town. On the way to town Jacob was in the back seat hitting the bottom of his shoes like we do when we are putting them on his saying, "shoe the little pony". He would go back and forth to each foot. After our picnic we are going to take our kids over to the wetground so the kids can play before the concert and fireworks. Melissa and Bruce didn't have time to pack a picnic so they got pizza. We took the kids over to the water park and they had so much fun. Jacob ran around and played with the different spouts of water. He would go from one spout to the next sticking his face right in the water and laughing. There was a symphonie/orchistra (free concert) going on before the fireworks began. We brought snacks and set out the chairs and blankets. There was a nice breeze and the sun was shinning. We dressed the boys in the matching outfits and they looked cute. Jacob ran around and played. He loved to climb in our chairs and sit there like a big boy all by himself. He started to look really tired so we went for a walk with him in the stroller and after a short time he was asleep. When it was getting close to time for the fireworks I held him and let him wake up. He really enjoyed the fireworks and a one point he pulled his arm out from behind me to clap. There were so many people but the wait wasn't to long to get back to our vehicles. Plus Melissa and I had lots of fun joking around while we waited.
