Something wrong with this picture? This is how Jared found Kenzie and Truman this morning.

Jacob took this cup and said, "look Mommy, dis is me horn" as he moved it up and down pretending to play.

Jacob and Kenzie woke up around 7:30. They looked at books in the bedroom until ~8am. Adam woke up at 8:30. We watched Jacob's tractor movie this morning. Kenzie brought in a chick and lay on the couch with it. Got out the dominos and the kids set them us on the kitchen floor. Mom and Vikki came over around 11am. They enjoyed watching Kenzie ride Sammy. They stayed for a little over an hour. After they left we went for a walk down our road. Today Kenzie wanted to bring Kate along. Jacob liked making footprint and handprints in the snow. Jacob liked when Kenzie let him walk Kate on the leash by himself. I let him push Adam in the stroller. He stopped once to talk to Adam. He asked him, "ewe like dat Adam, is dat pun, in da troller?" When we got back Kenzie helped me pack lunches and get a blanket for a picnic outside. It was in the mid fifties and sunny. We had a lot of fun. Then Kenzie threw the stick for Truman. I went back inside to get Adam down for his nap. Kenzie stayed outside for a little bit but then came back inside. I could tell she had been crying as she told me how she had locked herself inside the chicken coop. She was afraid she'd be stuck out there all night. Jacob took a short rest with Kenzie reading to him. Then we went back outside to saddle up Sammy. Kenzie rode him and walked him around the yard. Jacob got to go for a ride by himself. He looked down and said, "no me wanna pall down dere". While Kenzie was riding, Jacob played in the apple tree. After unsaddling Sammy we fed the animals. Jared got home around 4:15 and we headed over to Mom's house. She watched the kids while Jared and I went to look at some more vans. We spend a long time with the dealer and really got nowhere. Got back to Mom's house around 8pm. Jacob was playing with the dominos. We had a nice visit with my parents and then headed back home shortly after 9pm.

This is how Kenzie gets on the horse.

She wanted to take some videos to show her Mommy how she rides.

We all woke up around 8am. Kenzie made scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast. While Jacob was eating his breakfast he looked at me and said, "I'm getting fuller and fuller and fuller". Then he lifted his shirt and said, "in me belly". Kenzie and Truman went outside to visit the chicks. When she came in she played zoo tycoon. Jacob sat and watched her for a little bit and then went to his bedroom to play with his cars. Adam and I played in the living room. Kenzie was really excited when I told her she could bring two chicks in the house at a time. Jacob liked holding them too. We sectioned them in an area in the kitchen. They sure are good poopers but Kenzie was very good about cleaning up their messes. After lunch we went outside to take a walk down our road. It was a beautiful, sunny day. Kenzie also brought Truman along for the walk. She and Truman ran ahead with Jacob running after them saying, "Kennie, wait up, Kennie, wait up". Kenzie would wait for him to catch up and then go running again. They liked stopping to throw rocks in the ditches. When we got back Kenzie and Jacob played on the slide and I pushed Adam on the swing. Kenzie and I played frisbee and then she wanted to throw it for Truman. She threw it into "Lake Russell". Truman had a really hard time getting the frisbee and splashed around trying to get it until Kenzie helped him out with a stick. While I was towel drying Truman Adam splashed around in the dog water. He also likes to spash in the water on the door of the dishwasher. I set some water on the floor for him to splash in. That kept him entertained while I unloaded the dishwasher. Kenzie brought in some chicks and rocked it in the rocking chair. Jacob liked watching her build a block house for it. She's got a couple of these chicks so tame they jump in my lap. While Adam was napping I took Jacob and Kenzie outside. I saddled up Sammy so Kenzie could ride him in the round pen. She was excited to ride him outside. Jacob also got to ride again. Again he was a little nervous at first but liked it as they started going. He especially liked having Sammy walk through the puddle of water. Kenzie rode him back into the barn where she held him as I unsaddled him and then she took of his bridle. We fed the animals before heading inside. Shortly before 4pm we left to pick Jared up from work. We went to several car dealerships. The kids slept in the car. Went to McDonalds for dinner and took the kids to play in the play area. Adam even climbed up partly and then I helped him up to the top where Kenzie took him down the curly slide. First time he was a little nervous but had a big smile when I met him at the bottom. Second time he really like it. A little boy came over to me and asked me what my baby's name was. I told him Adam's name and then asked him what his name was. He told me his name, shook my hand and then ran off to play. Jacob was sitting next to me and said, "Dat a nice boy". We drove by some big buildings on the way home and Jacob said to Kenzie, "look-it dem big bill-wings Kennie, dem big bill-wings". Got home around 9pm. I let Kenzie bring her favorite chick in for 10 min before getting her pjs on. Got the boys ready for bed. Kenzie read Jacob his bedtime stories.

Kenzie woke up shortly after 8am. She played with the dogs on our bed. She is staying with us until Saturday for her spring break. Soon Adam woke up. We sat on the couch and looked out the window. Jacob was excited to find that Kenzie was still here when he woke up. She played zoo tycoon and he wanted to sit on the stool by her while she played. Adam is walking around like a pro now. Now he will let me stand him up without being near anything to hang on to. I just love watching him walk all around the house as he explores. Kenzie went outside to visit her chicks. When she came back in her and Jacob played with the rice. She made me a pie. Jacob found a ladybug and put it in the rice to crawl around. Then Kenzie got dog food and wanted to make Truman do tricks. She likes to pretend she's a dog trainer and put on a show. Jacob (and Adam) was her assistant. Then she took Truman outside to play in the water. Truman was very wet and muddy when she brought him back in. Kenzie dried him off. After a while I noticed that Truman was still sitting by the back door looking like he was in trouble. He had a little mud on his back legs so I cleaned him off. He still wouldn't come in until I encouraged some more. Kenzie, Jacob and I played a couple games of Jenga. Then we got out art stuff and sat at the table to color. After lunch Kenzie and Jacob asked to bring out the air mattress and watch the Cars movie. Adam had fun crawling back and forth over the air mattress. When the beginning Cars song came on Adam climbed up on the mattress, sat on his knees and danced for the entire song, bouncing and moving his arms. Jacob played on the couch with his tractors and cars while the movie was on. Adam took a nap and Jacob took a short rest. Then Kenzie, Jacob and I went outside. It was cold and very windy outside today. Kenzie moved some bales of hay around so Jacob could climb up. Kenzie helped me brush Sammy and then I saddled him up for her to ride in the barn. She really enjoyed riding him. I remember back when she was 3 years old and would ride him all by herself in the arena. We put Jacob up with her to ride. He was a little nervous at first but really enjoyed the ride after we taught him how to make Sammy stop or go by his voice commands. Kenzie then asked if she could ride him bareback. I took off the saddle but she was ready for me to put it back on after a couple laps. After she was done riding we fed the animals. A couple of the goats were rearing up at her and Maude stomped at her. We went in the chicken coop to play with the layers. Inside I made some hot chocolate and coffee to help us warm up. The dogs started barking and I said to Kenzie, "Uncle Jared's home". Jacob then kept saying, "Uncle Jared's home, Uncle Jared's home". Kenzie got out the blocks and wanted to play what she calls "copy cat". We build the same thing and see who's falls first. We had sloppy joe's for dinner. Adam did too and really liked it. Jacob lately really likes to walk backwards. He'll walk backwards all the way to the bathroom toilet saying, "I walking backwards". We had to go to TSC for wood pellets for our corn burner and also needed another waterer for the broilers. Kenzie liked sitting on top of the 7 big bags of pellets as Uncle Jared pushed her really fast to the car. Got home at 8pm just in time to watch American Idol. Jacob played with his rice and Kenzie and Adam played with the blocks. Adam likes to pick up blocks and hand them to one of us. Kenzie likes to run and slide on her feet in our kitchen. Tonight Jacob would say, "I lide on dat hard floor" as he push his feet apart or fall to one knee and try to slide. Kenzie hide behide the air mattress and really scared Jacob. Jacob thought it was so funny he jumped around in circles saying, "Ewe cared me Kennie, ewe cared me". Then he wanted to hide behind it and scared us.
