Well Thursday night I slept very little. I was very nervous and excited. I was nervous about being induced with the pitocin because I knew it made the contraction stronger and last longer. Friday morning we got up and ready and then got Kenzie and Jacob up and in the car. We dropped Kenzie off with Papa and then took Jacob over to Aunt Missy's house. Jacob was excited to go to their home. At the hospital we got check into a labor & delivery room at 7:15am. When the doctor came in and did her exam she said I was dialated to 6cm and the babies head was at a +1 position. The doctor tried to break my water but was not successful. She said she was worried about scratching the babies head. They started an IV in my hand and got the pitocin going. Contraction got bad quickly. My mom was there and was very helpful. I wanted to get into the shower, but because of monitoring the contractions with pitocin, the nurse said I couldn't. The nurse asked me if I wanted the injection to help relax me in between contraction but I told her not yet. The doctor came back in and checked me around 9am and said I was dilated to 8cm. She told me I could take a shower if I wanted. The nurse worked on switching IV machines to the one I could take in the bathroom with me but she had lots of problems getting it hooked up right. I struggled through some very strong contractions while she worked on that. Jared rubbed my back and helped me with my breathing. I got up to get in the shower but wasn't in there for a few seconds when I told the nurse I felt like pushing. She got me back in bed so the doctor could check me. The doctor told me I could start pushing and I told her I was so worried I was going to have to push for 2 1/2 hrs like with Jacob. She gave me lots of encouragement and told me it would be 30 minutes tops, but she was thinking more like 15-20 minutes. I was really hot so Jared fanned me with a paper and gave me water. Between each contraction I remember looking at Jared and telling him that feels really good. I started pushing at 10am and he was out at 10:23. His head came out and then his hand came straight over his head. I held him close for a few hours and he nursed like a pro. We named him Adam Mark Alan. He weighed 9.9 lbs and is 21 1/4" long. He had lots of visitors. Melissa brought Jacob to the hospital and he stayed with us for a few hours. It was nice spending time together as a family. Daddy changed Adam's first diaper and it was very messy. Today we left the hospital and went to pick up Jacob. Jacob got in the car and pointed and Adam and said, "Baby". He watched Adam alot on the drive. We stopped at my Grandma's house on the way home so she was able to see Adam. We stopped at Mom's cause she made us dinner and then stopped for ice cream cones on the way home. We lay Adam in his crib while we got thing unpacked and Jacob went in his room, climbed on the side of the crib and told the Adam "night, night". Jacob loves to rub Adam's face and head.

OMG these are great pics. I love how clear they all turned out. Well Congrats!
Love you guys,
Vikki :o)
Nice picutres...Adam is already 1/2 of what Andrew weighs and Andrew is 6 months old!!! I'm surprised though that Adam had on a Michigan hat and not a wings hat...oh wait I'm sure there might be a stars hat in the mail already if uncle Rick is on top of things
What wonderful pictures! I am glad to see Kimmy -- but even she takes a back seat to that last photo of the two boys together. That is really precious. (Sorry, Kimmy -- I really am glad to see you; but you are going to have choose your other pictures better if you ever want to be the star.)
Let's see if I can get things going a little more. The only pictures we see of Kimmy is with new family members.
TX Fantom (as if you alreday did not know)
Thanks so very much for another grandson. He is one chunk of a guy already. Woooo. Kimmy is a good cooker. And...Kimmy, I love your picture. Give Jacob a squeeze for me. Being a big brother can have it's challenges. Ask Doug and Eric. LRuss
I think the MIDDLE one has more challenges & I'm sure we will hear about the youngest and challenges.
