We woke Kenzie up and she took a shower while we went outside to take care of the animals. When we got inside we went into Jacob's room to wake him up. He ate his breakfast and then got down and went over to Kenzie and begged for some of her bagel. She broke him off a piece. It was raining outside. When we got to Nana's Jacob held out his hands to feel the rain. I got out of work early today so I called Mom and told her I would pick Kenzie up from school. I stopped at the gas station and picked up a couple treats for Kenzie. When I got there she was looking around for Nana's car but was excited to see me. She had bought me a poster of horses. When I got to Mom's, Kenzie showed me the mums she and Nana had planted. She said wow they have grown since yesterday. When we got inside Nana told us she had moved the flowers they planted and put bigger white mums in their place. So Kenzies flowers didn't grow as much as she thought they had (they also didn't change from pink to white). Jacob is such a climber now. Mom said she had to keep the tray on the highchair cause he'd kept climbing up in it. He can also climb onto kitchen chairs by himself. Kenzie, Jacob, Nana, and I went outside in the rain and walked through Kenzie's maize. Then we went to get one of the pumpkins from Nana's garden. On my way home we stopped at Salvation army. Jacob was asleep so I lay him in the cart and he slept the whole time. He stayed asleep as I put him in his carseat and was still asleep at home. Jared was cleaning out a stall for Sammy. Its suppose to get cold tonight so we are keeping him in the barn. The girls weren't happy when we took him out. They ran around and made lots of noise. Jacob climbed up in the rocker and got a book. He was pretending to read and it was so cute.

Jacob woke up early this morning but fell asleep soon after. We took care of the animals and then went in to wake him. He did not want to get up. I rocked him in my arms and he smiled really big. He was asleep when we got to Nana's house. I lay him on the been bag and soon he was awake. I took Kenzie to school this morning on the way to work. She was very chaty. After work she walked me through a maize she made through the leaves in Nana's back yard. Jacob was excited to walk through with us. Kenzie spent the night at our house tonight. On our way home we stopped and got a carmel apple from a store that sells the best. At home Kenzie got Jared the rake and he made a huge pile of leaves. They dove through them many times. Jacob was scared to go in the leaves by himself. I sat in them with him. When the leaves were falling on top of us he acted like they were rock coming down. He was ok once he realized they didn't hurt when they landed on you.
Jacob loves to sit at the piano and play. He turns the pages like hes reading.

Jared drove to Mel & Bruce's after work to look at the remodeling Bruce's is doing. Jacob was outside with Hailey and Max playing. We sat in the kitchen while the kids at snacks. Melissa showed me how they ask Max any question and he shakes his head no every time. He likes the laughs he gets out of it. Jacob went to see Daddy and Hailey came up to me and asked me, "Can I play with Jacob". She wanted to play "dress up" with him. The only thing he would wear is the sunglasses. I followed Jared in the car home and we stopped at meijer. Jared ran in for a couple items and I stayed in the car. Jared pulled out to leave and a van got between us and then I pulled out. The van was going really slow so I turned at the first road. I got home and Jared wasn't there yet. I waited there for a while but then got worried. He should have got home before me. I went to the end of our road and waited. Then I got really worried. I drove back the way Jared had come trying to see every car that passed me but it was dark and hard to see. I drove almost all the way back to meijer when I thought I saw his busted light in my side mirror. I turned around and headed back home. He was home when I got there waiting in the driveway. He hugged me and explained that he noticed when he turned that I wasn't behind him. He waited at the corner for a while but turned around and went back to meijer to look for me. We usually follow right behind each other. I was just glad we were home and he was ok.

This morning I brought Jacob in our bedroom. He lay back against Daddy and cuddeled his blankey. Kate gave him licks and he sat up and pet Truman. He got down and went in our closet. He pulled the door shut and we said, "where's Jacob". He'd push the door open and come out stomping his feet and squeeling. Then he ran up and down the hallway carrying his blankey. He wanted to sit on the desk chair and I spun him around. At church today he cried when I left but did fine soon after. We had pizza for lunch. Jacob loves to run around the dog bed as fast as his little legs will take him. He also loves racing down the hallway with Daddy. Every time football or racing is on tv he gets excited and says, "Dat, Dat" while pointing at the tv. While he took his nap today I took one too. When he woke up Daddy got him out of bed. Daddy held him in the living room while watching the some of the race. We went outside and gave the horses their hay. Celeste was being a big bulley and chasing the horses away from their piles. She finally found the pile she wanted. We walked over to feed the goats but Jacob didn't want to walk past the tractor. I walked back toward him and he smiled cause he knew I was going to help him up. He asked what all the knobs were. I sat on it with him and started it up. We watched Daddy and Kate catch road runner (the chicken). She's the hardest chicken to catch. The rooster didn't like them messing with his hen. Kate chased her into a stall where Jared caught her. Jacob climbed up on his little slide and slid down several times. He was facinated with the bugs we pointed out. He was getting so excited and stomping his feet as he touched them. It was such a beautiful evening we had dinner outside. Jacob got me all wet splashing around in the tub tonight. Daddy laughed when he came running out of the bathroom and gave him a hugg. I read him a bedtime book and then he ran over to Daddy with his hands up to say goodnight. Then over to Truman where he bent over to give a kiss and then Kate. He hugged me as I carried him into his bedroom. He gave me a kiss and then folded his hands before I even said, "lets pray".

Friday: Put in 50 hours of work this week. Tooth is getting much better with antibiotics. When I got home we had dinner and then did the dishes. Then I vaccuumed the house. Jacob kept running down to the end of the hall, leaning against our bedroom door and waiting for Daddy to stand next to him. Then they'd run fast down the hall. Then Jacob would go back down to the end and wait for Daddy. He'd look at Daddy for when to take off and they'd go.
Saturday: Jacob started talking at 7:30. We listened to him and got up at 8am. He had breakfast and we went out for donuts and a muffin (for me). We then went over to Jeanne and Leonard's house for a visit. Inside Jacob was facinated with their bird. They bird looked at Jacob and said, "Hi Craig". Craig is their son's name. Jeanne had Rocky (the bird) show Jacob his wings. He puffs his feathers and flaps his wings. Then we went outside. Leonard, Jared, and Jacob went out to see the new baby donkey. I stayed with Jeanne and walked a donkey to one of their round pens. Jacob loved it in the barn with all the animals. He walked over to see the pigs and they snorted. Jacob jumped a little but he loved it. He sat on their 4 wheeler. He picked up a rake and raked some hay with my help. Jacob sat right next to Leonard in their trailer. I went to the car to get him a snack. He sat in the driveway with his bowl of animal crackers. Leonard said, "Lets sit in the back of the truck", Jacob liked that idea and I lifted him up. A kitty jumped up and wanted to eat his crackers. Jacob fed him one and I gave him a couple too. Jacob was getting real tired and it was time for lunch so we headed home. We had a really nice visit. Stopped and got Jacob a happy meal from McDonalds on the way home. He wanted my grilled cheese so I ate him nuggets. He took a overdue nap when we got home. Jared worked on mowing the lawn and I cleaned out the car. It was a sunny day and the hornets were out. I took a little nap. When Jacob woke up Jared brought him to me and he lay on the couch with me. Jared went back outside to finsh mowing the back yard. Jacob wanted to watch. I set the chair by the window and he stood on it and watched Daddy mow. He watch for a while and then we went outside. I drove the tractor with Jacob on my lap and Daddy on top of the hay in the trailer behind us. We fed the horses and then Daddy and Jacob drove around on the tractor. Jacob climbed up into his fort by himself with Mommy behind him. He wanted to go down the curley slide but not by himself. Daddy went down with him severel times. Then he went down the straight slide by himself a few times. Made sloppy joes and fries for dinner. Jacob loved that meal. He was begging for the next bite. We walked around the mall and let Jacob play there. He was running all over the place. A little girl pushed him and he just staired at her. Then Daddy helped him up on the grapes and he layed his head down like he was going to go to sleep. He lay there for a while and patted the grape with his hand, we just laughed.

Jacob's first Goose Egg
Jared here.... If you look in the pictures below you'll notice a dark spot over Jacobs right eye... no it's not hair...we were coming in from outside and he fell and bumped his head on the ceramic tile in the kitchen... oh did he cry...until Mykenzie came 5 minutes later... I couldn't find a bump spot as I thought it was on the side of the head...and it wasn't notice till later when Kimmy happened to exclaim "oh my goodness". The spot took a while to darken up and is quite the bump. Many memories of my own goose eggs growing up...he's a chip off the old block...literally.

Jacob had cheerios for breakfast and then I made him a little piece of cinnamon toast like my mom used to make me. He loved it. Kenzie was watching a video when we got to Mom's. On tv they were showing all different farm animals and for every one Jacob would point and say, "DAT, DAT". Took Kenzie to school on my way to work. Mom called me at work and told me that my Grandma had a blood clot in her stomach and she was going to be hospitalized. Melissa was going over to watch Jacob. Jared met me there after work. Jacob ran over and gave me a hug and we ate dinner. Kenzie is going to spend the night tonight. She packed her things and we cleaned up the house. At home Kenzie ran with Truman to the chicken coop and found two eggs. We went over to the goat paddock and gave them some hay. Kenzie chased the sheep and goats around. Jacob justed watched and smiled. We went in the barn and Jacob sat on the tractor and Kenzie climbed up the tire. Kenzie and Jared climbed up in the hay loft and threw down a bale of hay. We are going to be feeding the horses hay for the first time since spring. We took the chickens some corn and Jacob threw in small handfulls too. We all threw in hay to the horses but Jacob pile was very small. He wanted to pet Celeste's nose. Kenzie read several books and Jacob would come over and listen for a bit and then go play. Jared practiced spelling words with Kenzie. He'd have her take one step forward for right answers and one back for wrong. Jacob and I had fun watching.

In the first picture I asked Jacob to smile and thats what I got a great, big smile. I was up most the night with toothpain. At about 1:30am I went out to my car in the pouring rain to look for the oral gel. I thought it might take the edge off enough so I could get to sleep until it was time for some more tylenol. I had set the alarm for 3:30am to take my antibiotic. I was awake so I took it a little early. I finally fell asleep around 4am and the alarm went off at 5:00. Jacob is going with my Mom to the hospital today. My Grandma is having all sorts of test including an MRI. I packed things to keep Jacob entertained along with his harness. Later Mom told me he was perfect except when he had fallen asleep in the stroller and a lady walked through the door and yelled something. He woke up crying and wouldn't stop til Nana gave him some pudding. I took Kenzie to school I my way to work. We were talking and I thought I had passed her school so I turned around. Then I realized I didn't pass it so we turned around again. Very busy day at work today. When we got home Jacob ran over to Daddy and gave him a hugg. He went over to get an apple for the chickens and threw it in their coop. Then he wanted to go in with them. He sat on the lawn mower and we watched Daddy in the hay loft. Tonight Jacob was being so goofy. He started running really fast up and down the hallway. Then I would hide in his bedroom and he come find me, laughing really hard when I scare him. I run in the bathroom, then in our bedroom and back to his bedroom. We did this for a while and he was breathing hard when we were done. He was ready for a drink and some cheerios.

Sunday: Jacob was racing around the house. He'd go in the bathroom where Daddy was getting ready and then come running out smiling. My tooth that has been bothering me off and on for the last 2+ year is bothering me this morning. I had an appointment at my dentist to have the tooth taken care of but they canceled that and want me to see a specialist. After church I was in so much pain I asked Jared to get the plyers. Of course he told me he'd do more damage than good. Jacob had some lunch and then it was nap time. I took a nap too. Jared went outside to play on the tractor and burn some cardboard boxes. When Jacob woke up he wanted to go outside. We walked over to the fire and watched it. I sat in the grass and Jacob stood next to me. I asked him to help me up and he grabbed my hand and pulled. He likes when we pretend he is helping us up. Daddy took him for a ride on the riding lawn mower. We made a chicken pot pie dinner that was really good. Jared made some brownies for our small group gathering at church. In our group there is another little girl 2 1/2 years old. She tried to grab Jacob's toys a couple of times but he did not like that. He liked the little girl and gave her a big hugg when it was time to leave.
Monday: Woke up several time during the night to take tylenol. Jacob is staying at Nana's all week. This morning he sat on the couch where they have a body massager/vibrater. He sat there for a while with a funny smirk on his face. Then he got down to play with the barn and tractor. I called the dentist today and set up and appointment with the specialist. They put me on an antibiotic. Jared picked Jacob up from Mom's and I headed home after work today. On my way I stopped to pick up my antibiotic. They said it was going to be 30 minutes so I went next door to Salvation army. It's no fun walking around with a toothache. When I got home Daddy and Jacob were outside. Jacob saw me and came running to give me a hugg. Jacob was pretty cranky during dinner. He just wanted to eat snacks. When we wouldn't let him he threw a fit. I got him to eat a little and then Daddy gave him some applesauce. He cheered up but he was still very tired. Later, I asked if he wanted to get his tractors and his head popped up and he ran to his bedroom. I brought them out and he played with them on the floor. He was really excited and was running around Truman's bed til he was dizzy. I'd pretend I was going to get him and he laugh really hard.

This morning we were up before Jacob. We went out to the barn to look at what section of it we wanted to have our neighbor store his equipment. Jacob woke up shortly after we got inside. Daddy went in and got him out of bed. When they came out of the room he came over to me so I could hold him. Daddy went outside to burn some boxes. Jacob wanted to go out too so I took him out in his pjs and wrapped my coat around him. Our neighbor came over and walked through our barn with Jared. Then he came inside to look at our corn burner. Jacob walked around with a little cup and handed it to each of us. After he left we got ready and went out for donuts/muffin. Jared is taking our truck over to Bruces to help him get some lumber and dry wall. He dropped me and Jacob off at Mom's on the way. Kenzie, Hailey, and Max were there. I lay Jacob down for a nap. Mom, Kenzie, Hailey, and I looked through the JcPenny's catalog. Vikki came over with Izzy (their puppy) to pick up Kenzie. Kenzie showed me her peapod plant she has been growing for the last month. She tells me how big it is every time I see her. Then she took it back outside and I heard her crying. The puppy had gotten her plant and ate it. Melissa came over and Mom made mac-n-cheese for lunch. Mel and I got our kids ready and went over to Grandma's house. Jacob went right over to the toys to get his truck. We had a really nice visit at Grandma and Grandpa's. Jared and Bruce met us there. Mom and Dad came over to our house to see our corn burner. We all went out to Pi's for dinner. Jacob was really tired and grumpy. Everything I gave him he'd throw. He ate a little dinner but wanted something when we got home. At home he was in a little better mood though still tired. He stood by Daddy watching him clean out the corn burner.

I got to take Kenzie to school again this morning. Before we left her and Jacob were dancing to some music at Nana's. Mom and Kenzie brought Jacob to my work at 5pm. On my way home from work I got stuck in a traffic jam for about 40 minutes. I think I got about 3-4 miles in all that time. Jacob was looking at a book and then he fell asleep. People were driving crazy. A couple people even flew past me on the right edge of the road. When we got home Jacob walked over to the apple tree and wanted me to help him pick an apple which he took over to the chickens. We took care of the animals and then Jacob wanted to sit on the tractors. Jacob picked a couple flowers and gave one to Daddy and the other to Mommy. I lay down on the couch for a little bit and looked over to see Jacob carring the stool so he could set it next to the couch and climb up with me. Daddy read him his stories tonight. Of course he didn't really read it - he made up his own stories.

Very busy day at work today. Mom, Mel, Kenzie, Hailey, Max, and Jacob came into work at about 4:55pm. They waited til I got out at 5:15pm. I followed them to JcPenny's so Max could get his pictures taken while I watched the kids. Jacob and Hailey sat in the double stroller. First I took them to this thing in the mall you drop your change in and watch it spin to the bottom. Hailey and Kenzie put coins in and I held Jacob as he watched. Then Kenzie asked if we could show Hailey the Build-a-Bear (want-to-be) in our mall. I let Hailey walk around and look at the different animals. Then we went to bath & body and tried on lotions and perfumes. Jacob and Hailey rubbed lotion on their hands and then on their cheeks. We tried out every back massager in the place. I'd rub the kids backs and Kenzie would rub mine. The lady gave Kenzie a free sample of chap stick. After that we went to the Disney store. We passed the vehicles for kids to ride and Hailey said, "I want to ride the bus with Jacob", I got the kids out and let them sit in the vehicles and play. Jacob drove and the girls sat in back. Then the girls got out and sat in a different one. Jacob spun that wheel around so fast. Just as we were getting off the rides Mom and Mel found us. Got home around 7:30pm. There was a beautiful rainbow in the sky. Jacob was pointing at it. The was the most beautiful one I had ever seen - very bright. After dinner Jacob was running around the house being goofy. He played with his school bus and handed it to Mommy then Daddy. Daddy and Jacob played with the blocks. Jacob would build it up a few then knock it down real fast. We went in his bedroom and he played with his tractors. Then he climbed on Mommy and Daddy. He was very tired so he brushed his teeth and then we picked out a couple books to read. He folded his hands as we prayed and then held his hand down to be put in his crib. He fell asleep right away.

Jacob is staying with Nana today. I took Kenzie to school on my way to work. She chated with me the whole way. Jared met me at Salvation army on my way home. Then we went to meijer. Jacob rode on the pony. He didn't want to get off. Jacob was hungry when we got home so I warmed him up some pizza. Jared started up the corn burner. He has been waiting for it to get cold enough. It heats up the house nicely.

After work I got to Mel's and Jacob and Hailey were walking around snacking on little fishies. Mel dressed Max in the outfit he's wearing for his pictures on Thurs. He looked very cute. She showed me the hat Jacob colored and wore alot today. Him and Hailey put them on and walked around in them. Jacob doesn't usually like hats but he loves this one. It a paper hat they got at a restraunt. We took them outside and they ran up and down the walkway in front of their house. Took Jacob's hat home to show Daddy. He wore it for awhile at home too. We walked over to see the goats/sheep. The new kitty followed us over there. We were all in the paddock and she came in too. We watched her rub her head on the electric fense. Luckely she got no shock because of the long pause between shocks. Jacob sat on both tractors pretending to drive. Then we went over to play on the slide. After going down the smaller slide several time, Jacob and Daddy went down the curley slide together a couple times. Jacob was smiling big at the bottom. Then he went over to play on his truck. Tonight we were going through animal sounds and I asked Jacob, "what does a lion say", he made a little squeak sound with his mouth closed every time I asked him this. He asked for the phone and walked around the house pretending to talk on it.

After giving Jared and I our huggs this morning Jacob wanted his 3 tractors. He fell asleep on the way to Mel's this morning. After work when I got to Mel's, Jacob was laying on the floor with Hailey watching Barney. He saw me and smiled. Then he rolled over and sat up to say hi. I looked at pictures Mel had developed and Jacob kept coming over to give me huggs. Max crawled over and almost bite my knee. I said, "Don't bite my knee Max" and I pulled my knee back. Jacob then bent over and pretended he was going to bite my knee. I pulled my knee back and Jacob smiled. He pretended to do it a couple more time.

This morning Jacob slept in til 8:3oam. Jared and I got up and started cracking eggs for deviled eggs. Today is our family reunion. It is very cold and windy outside. When we got there we took the Jacob and Hailey to play on the playground. Then it was time to eat. There was lots of food. Jacob loved his hot dog. I was happy to finally meet my cousins baby - Molly Jo, who is 5 months old. She is a cutie. After dinner we took the kids back over to the playground.
They had so much fun sliding down the slide with rollers. I think the adults had just as much fun. Jacob even went down himself a couple times. Then he wanted to go down on his belly. The people who weren't playing were really cold so they decided to go to my parents house. We played for a little while longer and then headed over. Jacob took his first nap for the day after 3pm. He was very sleepy. When we got home Jacob was all snuggles with me. Jared chopped me some ice which Jacob and I shared.

This morning Jacob woke up around 5am but he fell back asleep shortly. Then he slept til 7am. I brought him in bed with us and he lay between us for a while. He scooted as close as he could to me. After Jacob had his bowl of cheerios we stopped in town for muffins and donuts. Jacob got his own donut hole. We were going to the auction where I bought Celeste. We first walked by the tractors. Jacob wanted me to hold him as we walked by. We were looking for something to hold a ton of corn our neighbor is going to sell us. We wanted to buy a gravity wagon but they sold for more than we were willing to pay. We will find a way to store it or buy less corn at a time. Our neighbor wants to store some of his equipment in our barn in trade for free corn. Jacob took a short nap in the stroller while we watched some equipment sell. When he woke up it was time for lunch. We went to the car and ate the lunches I had packed. Jacob sat on the grass with us and ate his sandwich like a big boy. I put on his harness and he walked around. We went over and watched the horse race that was going on. Them horses flew by us so fast - it was cool to watch. Then we went and got some homemade ice cream. It was very good and Jacob loved it too. We sat by the last gravity wagon and waited til the auctioneer came around. Jacob was climbing on it. We left around 3pm. Jacob fell asleep on the drive home. He stayed asleep as I lay him in his crib at home. We had leftover pizza for dinner. Then we went to meijer and to the mall. We took Jacob to play in the middle of the mall. There were lots of other kids there. Jacob was crawling through the race car and a little older kid came crawling over top of him. Then the kid plopped on top of him and Jacob just lay there as I hurried over to him. The other kids Mom came and pulled him off. Jacob stood up and went over to play with the big toothbrush. He was trying to climb on top of it and another little boy came over and pushed his hands off of it. He didn't want Jacob to touch it. Jacob would put his hands up and the little boy would push them off. Then Jacob just looked at him. The other kid ran off and Daddy helped Jacob up. He really had so much fun and we had fun watching him. At home Jacob went over to the cubbard to ask for a snack. I gave him some fish crackers in a bowl and he sat down with them. I got him a drink and told him to come out to the living room. He picked up his bowl and brought it over to the sheep rug and sat there. Daddy chased him up and down the hall and he ran over to Mommy to save him. Then it was time for a bath. After his bath I got him out and grabbed the towel to wrap it around him. He just wanted to hugg me. He didn't want me to let go so we sat there and cuddled for a bit. Then he brushed his teeth and I combed his hair. He ran down the hall to say hi to Aunt Vikki, handed me the phone back and ran back to Daddy.

This morning we were sitting on the floor in Jacob's room getting him dressed. Truman came in and was sniffing his face. Jacob sniffed back. I asked Jacob, "whats Truman do?" and he sniffed. Any time we'd ask him he do the same thing. I took Kenzie to school this morning. She talked to me the whole way. Told me she was going to find lots of crickets today to feed their praying mantess. She said they were learning about insects. It was fun taking her to school and I hope I get to do it again soon. Mom called and asked if I was going to be getting out of work early. She was taking my Grandpa to a doctors appt and just was wondering. Joni said I could leave at 1pm. Jared called and said the guys were coming over to install the corn burner. I picked up Jacob at Mom's and headed home. Jacob was so excited to see the big truck in our driveway. He kept pointing and saying, "Truck, truck, truck, truck". It is installed and we really like it alot. We still have to put a gate around it so no little fingers touch it. Jacob's doing really good staying back. He would point at it and run around the room being silly. We went to TSC and meijer. Got a pizza and picked up a movie.
Got Baby einstein - Seasons for Jacob and Pink panther with Steve Martin for us. We put Baby Einstein in when we got home. Jacob likes the puppets the best. I still haven't gotten rid of my cough. Before bed my cough gets worse. Tomorrow we are going to the Amish auction where I got Celeste. Should be fun!
