Jacob didn't want to go to bed last night. Usually he goes to bed really well, without a fuss. He kept asking me to lay down with him. As much as I would have liked to lay there and cuddle him, I think he would expect that every night and it would take him longer to fall asleep. He threw a tantrum - screaming and yelling "Mama, Mama, Daddy" over and over and over. He would not stay in his bed. So I took him back to his bed numerous time without saying a thing (trying to ignore his tantrum). It was very difficult to ignore because I just wanted to hold and comfort him. At 12am he finally did stay in his bed. When I headed back to our bedroom I saw a HUGE spider. I called for Jared to come quick and I ran into the bathroom for some toilet paper. The spider was very fast as Jared went after it. Both boys woke up around 7:30am. Jacob wanted to ride on his tractor right away. Adam fell back asleep after nursing, and slept until I had to wake him for church.

Cute picture:)

This morning we went out for donuts. Jacob got choc. milk and a donut hole. On the way home we stopped at a garage sale. I got a couple winter hats for the boys and a sweatshirt. Mel called when we got home to tell me of a sale out by them with really nice kids clothes. Jared stayed home with the boys and I went to check out the sale. When I got home Adam was sleeping and Jacob was laying down for him nap. I took a picture of them both because they looked so cute.

Friday: This morning Jacob woke up a couple hours earlier than usual. He wanted me to rock him - I enjoy these moments when I get them. Adam woke up a little after 9am. He hasa four teeth that look like they have come in but I believe they are still just under his gums. He loves me to rub his gums. Yesterday, he figured out how to pull a teether to his mouth and loved chewing on it. We ran out of milk and Jacob walked over to me, put his arm around my neck and said, "Milk please Mama, milk", "Go bye bye, milk" and then he headed over to the door. This morning he brought his pillow from his bedroom to our room and lay it by our bed. Then he looked at me and said, "Jump bed, please mama, jump". Jared meet me at my moms today. My aunt, cousin and Gail leave back to Colorodo tomorrow morning so we wanted to spend some time with them before they left. We took dinner over to my Grandpa's house and spent some time with him. Jacob put his arm behind Grandpa's neck, looked up at him and said, "Hi Grandpa". Grandpa told him that he was his sleeping buddy and Jacob said, "No night night". We stopped at the store for a few groceries before heading back to Mom's. My sister Mel and her kids were there. We all stayed there til around 10:30pm. When we were leaving Jacob went around giving huggs and kisses goodbye. He went over to my aunt Linda and said, "Bye" while smacking his lips for a kiss. He tugged on her shirt for a kiss. Jacob fell asleep on the drive home and stayed asleep as I changed him and put him in bed. I nursed Adam and then layed the wide eyed baby in his crib. He talked himself to sleep quickly.

Thursday: JARED'S HOME!!!!!!! Yeh!!!!!
Yesterday I went to take some checks to the bank that were sitting in Jared's wallet for quite a while. One of the checks had only one more day before the six months were up and we wouldn't be able to cash it. After going to the bank I decided to use the debit card and got some money out to use at the store. I found a nice baby monitor (I miss hearing Jacob talk in his room) for only $4 and a nice photo album for $2. I also got a few old navy/GAP outfits for the boys for only .79 each. Adam started to get fussy so it was time to leave. Then I realized I had left my debit card in the machine. So I headed back to the bank. As we walked into the bank Jacob held my had in the parking lot. Once we were on the sidewalk Jacob looked at me and said, "No hand please Mama". My little boy is growing up. As we waited, Jacob grabbed a magazine and looked at the pictures. Then he looked over at me and said, "Mama book please". He climbed down from his chair to get me a magazine too. On the drive home traffic was backed up due to construction and an accident. Jacob loved watching all the tractors working. It was about 30 minutes in the traffic jam. Jared got home around 9pm. Adam was fussy so I lay him in his crib with the mobile on. He was happy there and talked himself to sleep. He slept until 9am - 11 hours straight. I kept going in his room to check on him and he was sleeping so peaceful. In the picture of Adam he is biting his bottom lip - something he just started doing alot.

This morning, after breakfast, I was getting Jacob dressed and he wanted to sit on the potty. He sat on the potty and watched his tractor video. I left the room to hang clothes in his bedroom when he came running in the room and he was very excited. He was saying, "I peed mama, look, I peed mama". Sure enough he had - we took it and he helped me dump it in the toilet and he flushed it. I have been letting him set on the potty not expecting him to do anything - but I was so excited when he did I had to call my sisters and my mom. I called my sister back to wish her a happy 9 th anniversary when I realized the date and offered to watch her kids if her and Bruce want to go out. Jacob wanted to jump off the couch so I got the dog bed and some pillows and he jumped away. He had so much fun and then wanted me to jump also. He kept saying, "Adam down, mama jump". I jumped several times pretending to fall onto the pillows - he thought that was pretty funny. He would climb on the couch, shout "three two three" and jump. Then I got his barn out and put Adam in his bombo seat. He wanted me to play with the pig and I pretended the pig was hungry. Jacob would drive the tractor over and I would pretend the pig was eating out of the trailer - then he'd say, "All gone" and drive away. Mel and Bruce brought the kids over around 6pm. I think them three kids had every toy out. Max played with the push toy, the tractor, and the little cars. I could tell Jacob didn't really want to share his favorite toys but he knew he had to share. A couple times the boys grabbed toys from each other, but overall they did great. I made chicken fried rice for dinner and the kids loved it. Max left half of it on his lap or the floor but he wanted more when he was done. After dinner, I gave each of them a popsicle. Mom called and said they were on their way over with my Aunt, Gail, Kenzie, and Ahmai. While the kids were eating their popsicles I hurried and picked the toys up so my aunt could get around in her wheelchair. They hadn't seen the house in a couple years and they thought it looked great with the new paint and carpet. Bruce had Hailey and Jacob on the floor laughing really hard. For some reason Jacob had a hard time going to bed tonight. Usually he does great, but tonight he did not want to stay in bed. He pointed at the window and said, "Tunder". I held him for a little bit and had him watch the bubbles on his lava lamp. Later I went in to check on him and he was covered in his blanket with his little feet sticking out - hands behind his head - still watching the bubbles. I turned the light out and he said "night night, love you". Tonight after the kids were asleep I was picking up toys and wondering where most of Jacob 26 little cars had gone. I looked behind the couch and found 20 car and a pair of slippers. Mel has said they move the couch every couple days and find things - well tonight it was my turn.

Our Boys

Jared got up for his trip for work at 3:30am and I also got up. I couldn't go back to sleep so I watched the video from Copper Harbor. I got the boys ready and left for my moms at around 11:00. My Aunt Linda (moms sister), who has been very ill, and her friend are here for a visit. My great cousin, who is 5yrs old, also came. Jacob was a little shy at first but soon warmed up to them. Both my sisters and their families and my Grandpa were also there. We had lunch and dinner together. Jacob was really excited to see all of his cousins. Adam was content being passed around or just laying on his blanket. Later this evening, Me and the boys went with Mel's family to an outing in town where they had all kinds of things like firetrucks, police cars, and a helicoptor that the kids could sit inside of. They were also giving out free bike helmets and fiting them to the kids. Jacob, Hailey, and Max had lots of fun. First we took them to the firetruck and I took them all inside of it. Max and Jacob weren't to sure about that. We then took them over to get fitted for helmets. Hailey and Max got green and Jacob got a red one. Then we went over to watch the police man with his dog. Jacob and Hailey had fun inside a rescue boat and then we took them to the jumping thing. Jacob kept saying, "no jump" and would go in it. Hailey loved it and so did Max at first, until Hailey took his hand and he fell over. Jacob loved sitting inside the helicoptor and we also got to watch it take off. They each got a turn spraying the hose of the firetruck. When we left Jacob said, "Bye coptor" and made firetruck sounds. (No pictures on my camera due to dead batteries).

Sunday: Yesterday morning was spent unpacking. Jared halled things in and out and I put things away. Vikki and Mykenzie came over for a visit and then my parents stopped in.
Monday: Adam woke up talking at 8:30 this morning. At 9am I heard Jacob calling me. I went into his room and found him sound asleep. He slept in until 10am. He played alot with his tractors saying, "I dump truck". Then he got out his little cars and put them in the dump truck. We built a big boat out of his mega blocks. Adam was in a great mood all day - he may have fussed for only a couple minutes all day long. He loves to be talked to and smiled at. His legs are getting strong - he can stand in our lap for several seconds at a time. We got out the paints for Jacob this afternoon. He wore a smock and called Daddy saying, "Look daddy". Jacob loves to play with water so I had him help me give Adam a bath this evening. Adam hung out with Daddy while I got Jacob ready for bed. At bedtime we read three books before praying and tucking him in. When I get done with a book he always says, "Oh no, oh no" as he pick out the next book. He'd have me read to him until he was asleep and he never wants it to be the last book. Then I turn on his bubbles (lava lamp) and he blows out the lights. After a little while Daddy went into his bedroom - Jacob was saying, "up - down" as he watched the bubbles. I lay Adam in his crib and right away he stuck his thumb in his mouth and closed his eyes.

Day 1

***Scroll to bottom posting to see the first day and trip.

The first picture is of Jacob as we drive through "the tunnels" in Copper Harbor. We were a little early to set up camp so we drove over to pebble beach. Jacob loved all the rocks and playing in the sand. I had my shoes off and Jacob looked at his feet and said, "shoes off". We stuck Adams feet in Lake Superior for his first time. After getting things set up at camp, Jacob took a well needed nap. He slept for 3 hrs and we decided to wake him up at 8:30pm. We all went to bed at 10pm. Adam in the playpen and Jacob on his twin size air mattress next to ours.

Day 2

During the night Adam woke up at ~2:30am, I nursed him back to sleep and then tucked Jacob under his covers. He woke up again about an hour later. I gave him his pacifier and he went right back to sleep. He woke up around 5:30am and I nursed him back to sleep again. Jacob rolled over to say, "Hi mama, I awake". He came to lay in bed with us for a bit. After his breakfast I took him down to brush his teeth and hair. Back at camp he played in the dirt with his tractors. It was a very cool morning. Jacob fell asleep in the stroller. Grandma R meet up with us and we all walked back to camp. Today for lunch we cooked hot dogs over a fire. We used the coals for aluminum foil dinners. Went to town and stopped to see Dennis's pottery. Then we went for a drive along the lake. We stopped and climbed up a rock cliff by the water. Went out for ice cream. When we got back we made smores and then it was time for bed.

The boys slept all night. Jacob only woke up when he heard us get up at 7am. He had cheerios for breakfast. Grandma walked by and Jacob called her saying, "Grandma come". He shared a bite of cheerios and some banana chips with her. We took a walk over to pebble beach where Jacob threw rocks in the water saying, "I throw rocks". The black flies started biting really bad so we headed back to camp for some bug spray. On the walk back we walked through the East campground and through the Fort. At the fort the sprinklers were on so I followed Jared through a path where the grass was brown. We only got a little wet. Jacob walked over the bridge and looked for fish over the edge by standing on his tip toes. At camp I fed Adam and then lay him in his playpen on his activity blanket. Jacob played on his bike and in the dirt with his tractors. Grandma came by to visit. Jacob brought a stick over to me and said, "I poke" pretending to give me a shot. We got ready for lunch and Jared drained the cooler. Jacob looked at me, pointed at the cooler and said, "Daddy peed". After lunch we took a trip to the Jampot and got some snacks. I got my usual peanut butter and jelly brownie and Jared got a cupcake. We also got some cookies. We took a walk to Jacob's creek falls, sat on the rocks, and had some cookies. I walked down in the water by the falls with Jacob. Jared took him in the water on the other side of the road. He was trying to pick up really b ig rocks and throw them in the water. On the drive home I thought I saw a bear in someones driveway. I asked Jared to turn around - sure that I saw a bear. Well - what I saw were the bears pictured above. We stopped at Dennis's store on the way back to camp. The boys took naps when we got back. I read Jacob his books and he made a fish sound saying, "yellow book". He wanted to read the book, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. He fell asleep quickly and Jared and I played dominos. Jared got a fire ready for our dinners and Adam woke up searching for his thumb. Jacob woke up grouchy and saying, "no" for everything. After dinner I took him over to Lake Fanny Howe. He ran back and forth and I showed him the minnows and a crawfish. I got the boys dressed in warmer clothes and we went out for ice cream or as Jacob calls it "cold cream". After he ate some of his ice cream and some of Daddy's he asked to play on the "cold cream truck". He wanted Andrew to drive next to him. When we got back I took Jacob down to clean him off before bed. On the way we walked by Grandma and Grandpa's site - Jacob said, "Grandma's tent, cool tent". Then he said, "Grandpa's truck". On our way back Grandpa was walking ahead of us and Jacob recognized him saying, "hi Grandpa".
